When a plan comes together. Maybe there is a piece to the jigsaw where the pellets can be produced in or very near to Uskmouth. That with Remediate and CC may suffice. Yes there is the moratorium BUT it cannot happen overnight.
Also on the doorstep is the heart of the Welsh economy - Steel. This needs to be greener steel and again this is an industry that is firmly on the radar of all welsh politicians who know that for the immediate future they have to support this.

The bridging capability then of Usk to give the energy for the local area for the grid becomes even more of a requirement.

The moratorium by the way for >10MW energy schemes is fine and a step in the right direction environmentally, however the United Kingdom as a whole on the journey to ZERO will need a transition to enable the massive requirements to give the energy requirement for the grid for the rollout of electrification via transport.

I have contacted SAE about what other plans they have for other coal fired facilities external to Uskmouth and their reply was that they are looking at all options for Sub-coal.

It would be nice to see more positive news that pushes the SP to where it should actually be.

I think I can only add an assumption based on the goings on this far.

Wales want to go green. Understand that.
Wales needs energy and lots more.
Wales wants to reduce emissions. I agree with that.

SAE are trying to address these issues with remediate and carbon capture which actually shows quite a significant positive shift.

With reference to the silos. What are the negative aspects of this apart from deliveries and holding pelletised sub-coal.

There was unless I am mistaken a potential move in reducing transport by using the rail network as per the old process for coal.

As far as I can see the main issue is movement of sub coal into Wales.

So as I keep repeating. What is the immediate solution for the Welsh to get the increased electricity from a bigger national grid without having something that can create this?

As I understand what I have seen the Welsh quite right brought this moratorium in as a control for large scale projects.

I am still not sure if we fall inside this given that this is not new with regards to the plant for producing energy?

I think the bigger question should be and I will make this a statement which in my opinion needs a communication from SAE.

What is their plan for this technology without Uskmouth.
If this is their flagship then I would like to think there is a plan B.

With regards to assumptions which we all seem to have about Uskmouth and the project in conjunction with the moratorium. There is no clear indication either way.

No facts at the moment.

My gut feeling is probably 70-30 that the project eventually gets the green light.

My cautionary note would be that this could easily be 70-30 either way.

4. Anyones guess. However to get the energy for infrastructure in South Wales won't happen over night Usk can deliver and is the bridging method. Plus CC and remediate?

5. Not a politician. Never want to be one and they are in some cases more bent than Stan Allardyce. So can't answer that one. A bit like them actually ask a question and get no answer to the question asked. If a brown envelope is involved maybe. Just kidding.

More confident of Usk at moment and this is just from the Comms coming out of SAE about the work being spent on planning and permit.

Have had a few Comms with SAE and feel that they seem to be pushing more and more on 3 fronts and I get the gut feeling that news about other projects is imminent.

I also hope (don't know) that they have a plan B should there be further hiccups with the Uskmouth Project.

Now that the GFG shackles has been lifted from the challenge by SUEH then hopefully there will be some pick ups.

Still have concerns as the CFDs related to HMG and currently think this is shrouded with not supporting UK industries.

Remediate may be an excellent move if they can prove how this will work for USK and sub-coal.

My other concern is the moratorium, however when reading this it is unclear if and what effect this will have on USK.
