Currently google finance is showing COP having lost nearly 40% since yesterday! If that doesn't motivate Circle Oil management nothing will.

So we are now at 2p a share. This has now reached a price which is very serious for the board. The value of COP is now less than 10% of where it was in September 2014. This is not just due to the oil price. Oil is at around 40% of where it was. Circle Oil needs some serious remedial action.

Don't get me muddled up with Stockbuyer.

Mitch Flegg thought his investment of under £10k in June was a 'lot of money' to him. Something of a concern when you see the amounts invested by BOD members of other companies. That has been the only BOD investment since September last year. Certainly BOD investment right now would be a confidence boost to the share price and would be at a very good price. A double wammy. And desperately needed for COP. In fact it could be said the entire company's future could depend on such boosts in confidence. At the current 3.5p the company is worth just 12% of it's value on 5 September 2014!

Quite honestly elland I take these 'target' prices as works of fiction a lot of the time. They are only mentioned subsequently when they, rarely, come true. The reality is the actual share price and the market's view. And the market clearly has a poor view of COP. Rightly or wrongly. It's Mitch Flegg's job to deal with that.

Selling now at 3.28p. This company is shrinking to oblivion, or at least to a fraction of what it was. Interesting to see the performance of another share, that of enquest. Since the operating statement on Tuesday their share price has held up and even risen against this climate of poor oil stock performance and a declining oil price. All oil stocks are now at a very low base but good company performance can shine through. Mitch Flegg should take note and raise Circle Oil's game.

I have said all along that confidence in COP has been severely eroded. Mitch Flegg has his work cut out. He has tried with interviews and sensible forward thinking. However it has been too little too late. With the current share price less than a third of what it was just a few months ago, with no negative change in the company, the company is in dire straits. The oil and gas prices clearly have an effect but a company like Shell (for example) hasn't had it's share price fall to even half of what it was. Circle Oil is a smaller company and the smaller oil companies have suffered more than the larger companies. But they don't have to suffer more if they are well maintained with low debt. In fact doing rather well in this economic climate can be good for a company. Unfortunately management have failed with many oil companies, large or small. Cue Stockbuyer.

First trade as a 'buy' at 10:47 for just £47.

Nearly three hours in to the day and not a single trade. This share price has seized up with a very low price but no one wanting to buy in because it has become an extremely speculative share with an expensive buy in tax rate. Even if the middle managers were to price this at 2p there would be few takers. That shows just how desperate the situation has got for Circle Oil management. I would think Mitch Flegg and Susan Prior must be wondering what they have got themselves involved in. The company needs to get some major investors to come in. Small investors on this forum will make no difference. They need major investors who feel confident in the company. That requires a direct approach from Circle Oil management. Otherwise the only hope would be a complete takeover by another company.

The price of oil is not entirely relevant to the current share price demise of COP. It has gone well below any figure which would be just due to the price of oil. The oil price increase over the past week has had a miniscule effect on COP. COP has confidence problems with the market and who is going to speculate on a share which has a 1% buy in tax? And speculation it would be as COP has been down for many months now with no indication of any recovery of the share price. Whatever Mitch Flegg has done has had no effect. COP needs some major investors to be attracted in with direct approaches from Mitch Flegg to persuade them with evidence of the upside of this company.

This share price has now past reacting to the oil or gas price. It is in the realms of pure fantasy. 3% of the company is bought up and the share price doesn't react. The share price is on the verge of 3p a share. It is becoming virtually valueless. If you think small investors are effected just think what effect that has on the company and it's ability to do business. Mitch Flegg has a serious job to bring this company back to confidence in the market. It doesn't help that the buy in tax is 1% as well. Why buy COP when there are others with 0.5% tax or no tax? This is a speculative buy now. Why speculate on a share when you have to pay 1% up front? Maybe Petrofac at 0% but COP at 1%? As a speculative buy?

Thanks for all that very useful information. The result is Aberdeen Holdings bought up 3% of the company for whoever with no upward movement of the share price. The market is not bothered about COP and the company stays in the doldrums with no market interest. Mitch has his work cut out.

The evidence since Stockbuyer came out with this rumour at the weekend is very low trading volumes, mostly selling and an even lower share price. This morning, after two hours of trading, just two trades of very low volume and, apparently, sells as well. The market has no knowledge of any possible takeover. So Stockbuyer either has knowledge not available to experts in the market or he is fishing, or maybe even phishing. He may be correct but the evidence points elsewhere.

Delano47, there is a complete lack of information on Circle Oil. You only have to look at the news articles for COP on Google Finance to see the lack of news specific to COP. We need as much news as we can get. You can always do your research and argue your case on here but don't tell people to go away. We need everyone we can get! Especially those who have some news, however inaccurate it may be. You can always put your evidence to refute it.

The reason would be because COP has been in the doldrums for many months now and the market has no confidence in it. Mitch Flegg's recent interviews should have helped but they have been too little too late. This small company from Ireland need to get themselves a bigger positive profile. It also doesn't help when you have to pay 1% tax to buy in when PFC (for example) has no tax and most others just 0.5% tax. If they had zero tax like PFC then there may well be a lot more interest. The fall of POO (doesn't sound right :-) ) should have little effect as Circle have $10 gas contracts and low onshore oil production costs.

Indeed. 13 trades so far this morning. All sells. No apparent miss-assigned at the traded prices. If there were any sort of interest this share price would rise. It's had a whole morning to do so and so far only falls. Currently at 4.26p.

So far no movement on the share price this morning. If Stockbuyer has this information you can be sure others would as well and the market will get to know any such rumours. The share price should move up with buying if there is any truth in the possibility of a takeover. So far just two sells of very low volumes each. Stockbuyer may be correct but there is no evidence of market movement. This share has languished for many months. It could be that the market doesn't believe it will do any good. Or it could be Stockbuyer stirring things.
