Once an investor pulls out of a company they also lose their voting rights. Those that are in BG by the time of the vote will be able to vote and will likely vote for the deal. The doubters also take a very short term view on the basis of the current very low oil price. Already there is unrest in Saudi Arabia and the government there will have to do something about it. Don't be surprised if the oil price rises back to the $40's or even $50's early next year. Of course it may not happen but that could risk serious unrest in Saudi Arabia and other oil producing nations.

The article was written at the end of November. The oil price has since fallen a further $10, although the extreme fall in the COP share price is only partly due to the drop in oil price. It's largely down to a bad loss in confidence caused by Stockbuyer and his group and others forcing the price down and the company doing nothing to prevent it happening. Mitch Flegg is new to the job and is only just getting a handle on things.

Can anyone see this deal not happening now? Shell have got approval from all relevant authorities. It's now down to getting share holder approval. I can't see Shell not having approached all the major share holders to get their views and to ensure they will be getting a good majority in favour.

It should not be foolish to invest in COP at these prices. It should be a bargain. Of course Stockbuyer and his friends are a concern as they have been creating a bad environment for investors and potential investors don't feel confident about investing. They appear to have encouraged a fall in the share price which may well not reflect the actual value of the company. He talks about court cases which could cost the company $15 million. That is about the current value of the company at £10 million / $15 million. Stockbuyer is correct about one thing. These court cases need to be sorted. They are disproportionally effecting investor confidence. The sooner Circle Oil gets all of their problems sorted the sooner we will see a share price which correctly reflects the value of the company.

Minus? Taken over? COP is certainly too cheap to ignore as a takeover. Maybe there are too many cheap oil companies around right now? Maybe they look at Circle Oil and see too many problems? Stockbuyer certainly has a point. Just how problematic are Circle's problems? Really?

Stockbuyer, I have no problem understanding a situation if it is explained properly. But your English in your response to elland on Saturday was not very comprehensible. I'm not sure about the relevance of these court cases that you keep on about. They may have some effect on potential investors. It certainly doesn't help you and your fellow group of investors if you keep on about them. Mitch Flegg is right to play them down. You are wrong to keep playing them up. Generally these problems are sorted out within the company and the less said about them the better. Otherwise, to put it simply, investors will be put off and you and your group of investors will lose even more as the share price drops. And that is exactly what has happened. By all means give us the facts but don't just play up the bad points while ignoring the good points.

Sockbuyer (sic)? Freudian slip? Indeed he has been hit hard by the fall in the share price but doesn't help by emphasising the dark side rather than looking at the more recent improvements. Mitch Flegg, in his reply, points to the fall in the oil price. But the oil price has fallen by 65% with COP falling by around 90%. He also refers to the rns financial statement which was positive but largely ignored by the market with the share price continuing to fall heavily. He also refers to the support of their key lender (IFC) and the strength of the Moroccan gas situation. All of these factors should mean the company has a reasonable future. If that is the case the share price is at all time bargain levels and should be a very strong buy. However that entirely depends on how true all of the good points are.

Mitch will be deluged with emails and messages, or he certainly should be. I have just received a confirmation of receipt of my email. 2.9 million shares sold at just £49k! At just 1.75p a share! They must have lost all confidence in Circle Oil to take such a hit!

As I have said these target prices are often works of fiction and are also often wishful thinking. That may be where they should be as a share price in normal times but the oil price and poor management is working against the share price. It has fallen to the unbelievable price of 2p and is in some danger of further falls. Management need to sort things out pronto. Clearly Stockbuyer is correct in a lot of what he says. Does make you wonder why he and his group invested in the first place?

At 2p a share? You must be joking!
