The price has risen, yes. Marginally and from a very low base. But the concern with COP is the inability to move with the current good news in the oil industry. Almost all oil companies are doing a lot better with the higher oil price and with the efficiencies they have developed since the oil price crash. But COP isn't budging. It just isn't. 2.5p when it was at 13p at similar oil prices a year ago is just difficult to understand when other oil companies are reacting to the improved oil price. COP just isn't. Other oil companies have debt and yet they are reacting to the higher oil price. Other companies have there other problems but they are still improving their share prices. COP just isn't.

The lenders seem to have the upper hand currently.

Unfortunately Circle Oil can't negotiate from a position of strength at the current share price. They may have to take what they can.

Hi elland. I'm not really monitoring COP too closely at present. It has been in the doldrums for too long. Can't think of any particular reason. Could be a fund manager has noticed COP's low share price and has bought in. After all the fundamentals have changed little since a year ago when the sp was around 13p.

In fact Peel Hunt and SP Angel are putting target prices of 10p and 11p on COP. That would be reasonable considering the position nearly a year ago, despite such an apparent large possible jump in price. Mind you I don't blame John for selling. This share has been stagnant for many months. Come on Mitch Flegg extract your proverbial digit.

We need a special rns on this. With the buy/sell spread of 0.5p at this low price and 1% transaction tax this will only move back to a reasonable price with substantial good news. Less than a year ago last May, with oil prices not much higher than currently, the share price was at 13p. That puts the current blip up to 2.45p in perspective.

This looked really good just over a year ago with their operations in Morocco. Egypt and Tunisia, but especially Moroccan gas. But Circle Oil has been going nowhere since then and has flattered to deceive. Some have been flattened by the deception.

This ship sunk long ago. That is the problem. It is taking far too long to refloat. If and when it does you will be in the money John. This share was up around 13p even after the oil price crash. In fact less than a year ago.

Are you sure? They're all down as sells. But the price makes them buys. So why are they down as sells when they are obviously buys? That is why someone has created the petition. The unknowing just see red sells and act accordingly. You may not be an unknowing, but they are not directed at you.

John I think you should appreciate the information you get on this forum. Turning away information will do just that and you won't get answers at all in future.

The point is many buys declared as sells will influence an investor and maybe frighten then into selling. A field of blue on the screen on the other hand instils confidence and attracts the buyers. Seeing an actually falling share price is another thing entirely compared to buys shown as sells which could encourage a falling share price to counteract the actual buying.

There have been plenty of incorrect designations. The reason given is they are indicative only based on the buy / sell spread. But this can often be used as an excuse if the share price is being manipulated. The petition is trying to remove that manipulation. If the people designating the buy / sell have access to the actual records the actual buy / sell result could be shown without any manipulation. And there should be no data protection issue with showing the actual buy / sell designation and nothing else.

The only item of interest on this forum today. I agree with it as well. Annoying to constantly see buys as sells and visa versa. Of course the small print states the assumption they are an 'indication only'. But that can easily be used as an excuse when the buy and sell indications are manipulated.

I'm just saying the way Egypt has treated Circle Oil with their irregular payments you wouldn't expect another business to slip into the position if Circle exited. Therefore it would make sense for Egypt to pay promptly, for their own reputational benefit as much as anything.

Most other oil stocks are showing signs of life. COP is showing distinct lack of signs of anything. Someone should politely inform the Egyptians that if they want to have an oil business they need to support the companies working there. Not paying Circle Oil in good time is not supporting them and if Circle Oil were to move on from Egypt who would take their place? With the reputation for not paying companies working in Egypt? Which company would replace them? Yes, it is certainly about time someone had a quiet word.

I'm sure when Peel Hunt do all the sums their figure of 10p comes out. However you still need Egypt to make their payments regularly and for everything else to be equal. Then you also need investors to have confidence. The length of time COP has been down at current levels with no explanation from the company or any apparent change in the situation with Egypt or Tunisia cannot inspire investor confidence.

A cruel joke right? This hasn't been 10p for 10 months and shows no signs of getting anywhere near 10p. If Egypt payments are sorted there may be some chance. Even then investor confidence has now been severely damaged. A 10p share price requires investors to invest. Currently that is just not going to happen.

Hope you had a good time in Palma elland. It is now becoming essential that Circle Oil gets a stable payment arrangement from Egypt. Morocco seems to be good, Tunisia is no change and the legal issues have gone quiet. Egypt is the problem for any partner or takeover. COP share price has now been down at current levels for four months and sub 10p for ten months. When some say it can take time for recovery many would say they have had plenty of time.

Circle Oil must be feeling a bit lonely. All this attention being given to other oil companies. :-)
