There are certainly a lot more trades now at this sp. The sells can only be from those either desperate for cash or can only think this company is on the way out. After that RNS who can blame them? The buys would be those taking a punt as this sp could easily more than double with good news.

Can't understand the 'recommends' for addicknt. No one else has come forward to back you up in your extreme requirement for the way this RNS was written. Bizarre. Of course you may choose not to have sympathy for buyers addicknt. They on the other hand should be able to buy shares in a company with some hope that the BOD is doing their best for the company, and therefore shareholders. Clearly the statement: "it is likely that there will be little or no value attributed to Circle Oil plc equity holders" is not doing the best for shareholders. Even if it were true you don't write it like that. If there were an element of mitigation to the current situation you don't put it like that at all. The company continues and therefore the BOD must think there is a reason why they don't all resign. After all if there were no value for the shareholders what is the point of staying on?

But 98 pi's did buy in yesterday despite the RNS. That's a lot. Glossing over is not required. What was required was a carefully written RNS explaining the pros and cons. Sure there are major cons but the pros were completely ignored. Just saying: "The management continue to consider all options to maximise value for shareholders and stakeholders" just doesn't hack it after dropping the: "it is likely that there will be little or no value attributed to Circle Oil plc equity holders" bombshell.

Stay clear? Helpful with no explanation? Obvious? Not to 98 individual buy trades yesterday after this RNS. More trades yesterday in one day than normally in more than a week with this stock. Many panicking and selling up at extremely low prices with the understandable concern from an RNS. This was an irresponsible RNS stating starkly the lack of support to shareholders in COP. There was no need for such wording. Many companies have problems and their CEO's don't put out such RNS's. They would always have a note of optimism. Honest? Yes it may be honest. But all CEO's try to mitigate any bad news in an equally honest way. In COP's case they have gas production in Morocco, oil production in Egypt and some apparent 'crown jewels' in Tunisia. Stating there is no hope for shareholders is irresponsible and potentially suicidal for the company. According to google finance the market capitalisation of Circle Oil is now just 4.13 million. So was that RNS a suicide note or what?

I think elland has disappeared in shock. I can understand you selling up as you may well feel this RNS has frankly dumped shareholders. However many may stay as they would get so little to sell up now. They may as well hang on to get what ever hope there is. Indeed this is as Stockbuyer forecast before he disappeared. But he had an ulterior motive to get at the company. Whatever addicknt says this RNS was an incredibly poor way of putting out this news. Basically stating shareholders have little or no hope is no way to disseminate news when shareholders basically finance the company. I think there are a lot of very annoyed shareholders out there now. The CEO will need a considerable public relations improvement to pacify them.

He doesn't have to state that shareholders are at the back of the queue. He doesn't have to lie. Just be a little optimistic and show some enthusiasm about the come he runs. Encourage shareholders. Don't kick them while they are down already.

It is said that the pen is mightier than the sword. In this case a simple printed document has more than halved the share price of Circle Oil. What on Earth made the CEO think that was a good idea? There was no need to word it in such a stark way, stating very clearly that share holders were to get little or nothing from their shares. The value of the shares multiplied by the number in circulation is the value of the company. The CEO has just reduced the value of his company by more than half in a simple printed document. Crazy.

Indeed. Everything looking better with Egyptian wells and gas production in Morocco. This RNS then gets put out as if to intentionally collapse the share price. Surely they realised what the effect of it would be? Maybe then to bring on better news later having dumped out all the bad stuff in advance. They are certainly getting some small buyers. I count around 12 buys so far. They, at least, will be happy if better news is yet to come. But how long have we been saying that? Months? And many of them.

The share price collapses to below 1p on that RNS. Surely not maximising shareholder value?

Are they throwing in the towel? Maximising shareholder value? Not with that they're not.

So the day ends with a small buy at 2.14p following a much larger sell over an hour earlier at 1.85p. So much for that RNS!

Latest buys at 2.19. Sells earlier at 1.8 and 1.85 though. And that even after the news from Egypt. And the sells were both bigger than any buy.

Good new from Egypt! Apparently. Because the sp doesn't move, being stuck at around just 2p. It would seem the very extended period of such a low sp has resulted in a loss of interest in COP. Bound to happen really with the lack of information from the BOD.

Indeed. We have a sell price at 1.5p and buy price of 2.25p. That's a 0.75p spread at this low share price!

Maybe it's just their 10% worth? :-) Sorry to be flippant but what else can you do with this company?

The usual excuse elland. They have said little even when they can. The Strategic Review better be good.

Am I missing something? What's so important right now?
