I agree dv. Good Cobre main client news would send this up above 2p. AIM buyers look for that sort of immediate news to buy in.

More fool them blacksheep? We rely on 'them' to input funds to propel the SP.

With AIM a lack of short term news tends to allow the MMs to drop the SP to get cheap shares. When the good news eventually arrives the SP often only gets back to it's original price before the drop. Currently the SML SP is holding fairly well although it has dropped a bit. If the BoD emphasised the short term good news the SP would now be up passed 2p and when the really good news came it would be up passed 3p and onward to the predicted 5.5p. As things stand we'll be lucky to get passed 2p on good news right now.

A lot of talk here about 'great prospects'. The reality so far are some uncommercial wells drilled at great expense. We need evidence. That evidence should be in the data room for a farmout. We're expecting news in Q1. Two weeks to go to the end of Q1. Do they always wait until the very end of the forecast time period?

I can only see one small trade this morning. This company should be attracting large investment now with Cobre income and Leigh Creek coming on line in just a month. Redmoor is excellent for a year or so away and Hans Camp another good prospect. The BoD need to encourage investors by giving out the short term news and just adding the long term prospects as well, but it's short term news that drives AIM.

Short term we have Cobre current income and the main client news after a year away for them. We have Leigh Creek staring in April with first deliveries in July. They could also mention the excellent progress with Leigh Creek and Readmoor. AIM likes the short term. For long term they will arrive later and go elsewhere till then.

AB's comment about 12 months to viable commercial production has killed the current market for SML. AIM investors aren't interested in 12 months ahead when they can get a faster return elsewhere. Hopefully the news of actual production startup in April and then first delivery in July (plus three months - RNS 7th March) will bring back the buyers. All very well promising less and delivering more but it doesn't work well in the AIM market.

I would suggest you need a more objective viewpoint New80. The Slovene government is in charge of their rules and laws. Colin can only conform to them. He has done so and the Slovene government hasn't followed it's own rules and laws.

Colin is an accountant in charge of an oil company. CD has had little apparent input as the oil and gas expert. We now have JB on the board and he has already shown a much more proactive attitude.

Up till now Colin has been 'the team' as he has done everything as the only Executive Director. The non Execs have been poor. Blame the one who has been doing stuff or the ones who haven't? AST should have had an oil and gas expert in charge. They now have a COO in that position. Too late? Or about time? Maybe both.

The SP RR?

AST needed John Buggenhagen over a year ago. As an oil and gas expert Cameron Davies seemed to do very little. He certainly wasn't evident to share holders to be doing anything. JB is already a strong part of the company as the COO and has said and done more than CD ever appeared to. Colin is an accountant with some legal training. He isn't an oil and gas expert. He's done very well considering he hasn't the background for the job.

As I said earlier there are those on this forum who are trying to damage and stop AST. Duster is just a sad example. I would recommend a good therapist.

Most of our MPs never had a proper job in their lives. At least being a comedian and a car fleet manager are proper jobs. :-)

I was hoping the 12 months timescale mentioned by AB would not be brought up here as the RNS stated: "While the restart of operations is expected to commence in April, shipment of our first copper is not expected for three months after commencement of operations."

Investors could look at that, then hear AB say 12 months and then push investing in SML on the back burner. AIM investors tend to think of 12 months as being long term and there aren't many long termers in AIM as they tend to arrive when news is expected.

Despite the upbeat AB interview and the very good fundamentals of SML the SP is actually a bit down this morning. Can't understand the lack of interest in such a good company. I can't buy up all the shares all on my own. :-)

Clearly the market thinks Winx was pretty important. There's no point in trying to big things up when the market is all that matters to investors.

We need to see a good farmout result. At least the market needs to see it. Without that 88E will be in a sorry state.

There is every reason for ARSO to progress this in a timely manner. As I said in my post at 08:23 if the IPPC had remained in place from June 2015 there would now be a processing plant supplying local gas to the gas grid. Slovenia would be benefiting from taxes and all form of possible income from the gas, as well as having better energy security for the country. They've missed that boat. Will they ensure they get on the next one as soon as possible? It doesn't look like it yet.

Cobalt is quite useful in batteries.

Strange how SML is still stuck at the current share price. Are there no takers for the shares of a stable, income producing company in AIM?
