on here 'who know things' from a 'twitter group' or a 'friend' care to post a comment or two of substance to prove it and help out those of us who are obviously less informed by pointing us in the right direction to research.

Hi CF. It's excellent research and interesting/timely news. The letter CMEC and GE have apparently asked for may not be in the pile for signing. I would be surprised if it wasn't however.

As Hanno said, once a letter/commitment has been made by the Moz govt to CMEC and GE, we are "off to the races".

I would love to see an RNS indicating the required assurances have been received in the near future. It may already have been penned, waiting for this visit to China to conclude, or it may not of course.

My view is it has, as has the required letter/MoU.

Time will tell.

During the Forum, a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) are also expected to be signed between companies from Mozambique and China.

President Filipe Nyusi, who will be in Beijing to participate in the work of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum (FOCAC) in the Chinese capital on 3 and 4 September, will open the meeting on 2 September.

The business meeting will also be attended by the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, Ernesto Max Tonela.

In the short term, it is likely that the loan will be converted to equity with an indicative pps of 10p. That is plenty of upside from today price.

The rest will then follow giving more upside.

I think all parties want this.

The way I read it is that EDM and MIREME are keen to ensure that NCCL (and JV Partners) can meet the deadline for bringing on the first power station in line with the dates published in their own whitepaper.

Speaking at the inauguration, Nyusi said it is urgent to find means of meeting the electricity deficit in Mozambique and in the southern African region.

"We must solve the electricity shortage for our own economy, which is now undergoing a sharp recovery, and for the region, where there is a greater demand", stressed the President.

He pointed out that around 70 per cent of the Mozambican population still does not have access to electricity from the national grid, and the government had no right to say "we have exhausted our capacity to serve or to think of solutions".

They cannot afford to hang around given the Governments commitments made publicly and contained in the recent white paper.
