Comparing now to 2007/8 is like comparing apples and oranges- completely different set of circumstances.

In the same way there was suspicion over a year ago than inflation was just transitory, there is equal suspicion on the Jerome's hawkish stance based on recent inflation drops... so say the markets

Let's see what Jerome says later- hopefully rate rise will be as markets expect and non downside surprises in economic narrative and hopefully a dovish tone!

My fres and hoch did similar- 95% of the time it's the markets, economic data and/or RNS. It's very very rarely detailed political or mine info (outside of RNS)

It's important to remember that gold doesn't always respond in a certain way to an impacting variable altering- rises in any commodity and stock are subject to multiple factors and it's the relationship between these factors at a point in time that decides on the stock or commodity direction.

Boom! Like I predicted the inflation tops/drops continues hehe- this is why I trade on markers :-)

Here's hoping for lower CPI in the US today to match or be even lower than predictions... a good level here will cement FED path further and gold will rise as will we... although ensuing commentary on background data remains key as always

To add- they have to provide soft landing to any recession in usa (technical recession) and have to play the usual fine balance- hence projections turned dovish last week when Powell spoke.

I'm been saying all year that inflation with top and begin to drop by end of 2022 and this is most likely scenario hence markets and fed etc demonstrative evidence. Fed would 100% kept at .75 for next one if they thought inflation would rise again in a sustainable way- they only have one tool to whack it and have been doing so earlier and harder than any other large economies, hence the dollar strength.

As you know, I trade around FED. Moves things a lot more than anything else- apart from RNS from
CEY- and RNS only yield big movements on actual results or issues- the last RNS is another case in point. Inflation top and drop is where's its still at, as drives FED policy

Had this in the past and it has drifted back over next hour or so despite no real change in gold or U.K. exchanges - this time seems to have held. USA closed today due to thanksgiving-
Timing about 13:00 and no US data out, and this would normally be release af 13:30ukntimenin any case

Yep, plus top and drop of inflation, and recession issues lends to point toward less tightening in usa which is good for gold-here's hoping :-).
