As to why PMs are still struggling despite gold proce and low oil is odd from a macro level

A bit of an unexpected drop on gold, but this can always occur when hitting all time highs.

Well initial reaction not what i expected so out again and cost me 1.3%- giving some back which i don’t like! although i have to admit being a tad nervous holding again albeit briefly as if a rns appears out of the blue that the deal has fallen through ina similar way to the last one, the SP will drop right back (highly highly unlikely to fall through but a risk nevertheless)- off if a better bid arises then will rise, but no evidence or rumour that this will happen. also at the mercy of the mercy of the new buyers which i know zip about.

Had you sold on the news at the end of day 1 and flipped to another PM's (most in fact), you'd have made loads more than you've made by sticking with CEY, approx twice as much in some cases.

Yes , my EDV down too, other pm’s not great considering new high- so I wouldn’t read anything sinister into the drop here (but that’s easy for me to say as I sold out shortly after the bid as posted).

This stock, like CEY, shifts only on economic data and RNS, and not unsupported speculation.

Current trading at 1876 and opened at 1887 so close price in Canada complete red herring.

Gold monthly options like weekly ones do not always mean drops at expiry also, they can but also not- not reliable data points like the ones I use.

Alas Cowchain still can't let go, he lost a packet on the wall collapse (the time he changed his view from positive to negative), sold all his shares, and is now gutted.

He has just spent the last 4 years trolling CEY and for all his time efforts, has had zero impact- thank goodness the vast majority here didn't listen to his insessant diatribe and made a lot of money here.

In 10years time, he'll still be here, the only one, banging on, and on and on and on and on.......

Stocks SP opening price is normally more impacted by after hours and before hours trading.

Ah ok, having checked volumes were approx twice on Friday on TSX.

As TSX rose less by close than LSE, then not surprising to see a fallback at opening in LSE.

Just following your logic.

All of this is of no relevant use, as no one knows outside of those on the inside.

To be pragmatic the options are simple:

1) sell if concerned on shennaningans or possibility of deal falling through (highly unlikely), and if you believe in gold and it’s drivers trade elsewhere

2) hold if you think another player will come on board (highly unlikely) and/or you believe in the new owners, and think gold and it’s drivers wil push it higher

Endless debate on the above will lead to nothing unless coming from someone on the inside- and I don’t mean unsubstantiated rumour from a fired of a friend and so on.

If it’s anything like cey volumes lse v tx, comparisons are irrelevant - followed this over the years

And also tx is behind, so old news, more relevance as a weekend I guess

The first offer could, of course, people the only offer.

It takes a lot of effort from both sides on due diligence etc to come to deal and offer.

So if the deal is what they want, they would accept that offer.
