Breaking- US Retails Flat

As I type... Asia following US markets tick back up, Europe futures follow and US futures up, US futures up again. Consensus remains US inflation transitory. No one suggesting the FED start to look at rising rates, but the numbers strength does call in question as to whether the FED needs to buying as many bonds as it is currently on a monthly basis. US data for day (13:30)- Retail Sales Numbers for April, provides more insight. Elon Musk comments hampered crypto, and as mainly retail based, lemmings dominated as normal. Gold up at USD ~1831 as I type. Happy Friday All- especially after the amazing win last night.

Interesting Tornado- the big question is when it turns... about 1 hour after US opening? Good time to be watching for sure...

Other parties have gone "woke", reacted way too much to twitter etc which represents such a small part of the total vote. Labour now gaining "woke" Uni voters and high earning middle class, Tory gaining the working class. Opposition focus is poor and misguided.

Yep, Prof- just had to give some back but if you looks overall past year on equities in general still great gains - hopefully markets will stabilise quickly- US futures were ok earlier but then changed again- volatile times

Am not a chartist either - I follow economic indicators though.

Big overshoot on US CPI

Asia mainly down, following US again.
US futures only a tad down at the the moment.

Key today will be the US CPI data: "The consumer price index for April will be reported on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., and is expected to be the hottest in nearly 10 years.
Economists have said the jump in inflation looks larger because of the base effects of last year when prices were weak due to the pandemic shutdowns.
The specter of inflation has been spooking investors, so any surprise the upside could stress the market."

Yep- every time the markets drop a little people panic lol- the amount of times I've heard "correction" markets will crash" in the last 12 months is incredible- the analysts should be sacked! If you look at the recovery in the markets (bar UK due to BREXIT uncertainty) you can see. The amount of missed opportunities by some analysts is breathtakingly bad- it was always going to be a "K" shaped recovery, the indices are NOT the economy!

Many sold gold off as it was high and they made a lot in the rise last summer, then piled into equities.

Yep- I traded good old RRS :-).

Cypto too got battered last night then came back a bit- so not a lot escaped- happens when pretty much all markets are high (UK held down over recent years by BREXIT uncertainty).

All indices following US tech sell-off last night. Hope for a blip- we are a stock.

I've switched off as much as possible and I use googlemail. Same on facebook. I don't mind some companies holding info eg Nectar, Barclays Freedom Visa as I gain discounts, rewards in cash etc. But I think the way it is moving is that they will start to pay you direct when agree to tracking info so you can decide and get rewarded for it.
