I think the 'minimum spend' clause was maybe more designed to protect GGP in the event that maybe results were not mind blowing. Newcrest could have fulfilled their commitment quite happily over a 6 year term and we'd have got the drilling we required completed.

As it happens, results have been staggering. I don't believe that Newcrest will baulk at spending considerably more to get this to PFS. When they get to the point that they are able to book 'reserves' then any additional spend will look like peanuts in the grand scheme of things. They clearly believe that this will be the case.

I wouldn't even like to guess at how many billions Hav could ultimately be worth but every penny spent now is increasing it's value and that's surely great business for Newcrest.

In the meantime, yes, our value increases as well. Can't see a cheap buy out though

SB did suggest that Hav is potentially stand-alone during Q & A last quarterly. I think the question related to Telfer production so maybe his comment got lost in the 'telfer back to tier 1' stuff

Volumes traded over the last couple of weeks don't suggest to me a huge amount of 'front-running.'

May be right, may be wrong, but for now I'm inclined to agree with Merc.

We'll find out soon enough anyhow.

On the subject of 'what I'm spending my money on' I'm kind of ambivalent. I'm genuinely pleased for those that had the balls to go in early - god knows it's hard enough to make decent money, so fair play to them. If I don't want to read about it then it's easy enough to skip to the next post. Not so keen on 'gloating' but I suspect some of them have never been holders.

We have an awful lot to look forward to here - MRE, when it comes, is going to surprise an awful lot of people, but maybe not us.

Basically, drill down 607 metres and then for the next 116.2 meters they have those intercepts

So pleased it's gonna be later rather than early
Specified timeframe would suggest they have a bloody good idea now of what it's going to be, bearing in mind that they will have results post this update. Very exciting stuff.

Just my view but can't see a MRE tonight - too soon after SB said drilling at depth 6 weeks ago. I'm assuming they'd want whatever they find included but I'd be delighted to be wrong.
Looking forward to the results, particularly NW step outs.

I think it was the interview with MM at the Sprott gig where he said the NSR would be worth more than the current market cap.

Honestly, the things some people obsess about.....

Can't see a full buy-out. Hav only at some stage post PFS if I had a choice (which I obviously don't).

Suspect Prim just talking up their own investment - they've sold a chunk since then!

It seems to me we have the usual dissection and re-interpretation of every word uttered by SB this morning.
MRE in the coming months becomes MRE in 2 months.
Commercial production 2/3 years post decline becomes mining it in a year
etc etc

The bottom line though is;

Hav continues to grow - grades exciting and now drilling at depth
MRE later this year
Decline end of this year / start of next
Commercial production 2/3 years after that
No change yet on PFS date - still middle of next year
No suggestion of any change to the JV
Nothing to suggest a buy out of Hav or GGP at this time

It's all good as far as I can see so happy to wait for the next RNS

Whilst I can understand the excitement over Scallywag, I simply don't see any JV being announced or even hinted at just yet, let alone moving rigs over.
Yes, Newcrest are interested, hence the right of first refusal. However, I simply can't see them committing to a JV on unproven ground so it's it's a bit early in my view.
We'll drill it, hopefully find some stuff, then Newcrest will take it or somebody else will.
Tonight I'm just hoping for some positive comments and decent questions re Hav. I don't believe Newcrest are in the habit of announcing anything substantive in their financials. Q & A will be the most interesting bit.
Would be nice to have some news on timings but I don't expect any change re MRE or PFS unless they throw a few more rigs at it!!
Should be interesting whatever comes out - Sandeep like a kid in a sweet shop would be good.

Really, who cares what it closed at today, tomorrow, in a week. It's all just noise if you have a target price and are not trading it.
We've gone from dead duck, African Blue, DODO, the dinosaurs etc to dispute resolution and now just waiting on extension.
One step at a time (although I'll admit there's been some bloody slow steps).
