What is a signed contract worth for ORCA share holders?7 Oct 2023 16:57
I'm keen to know what people think this is worth. WH Ireland Limited have specifically said within their 'CORPORATE SPONSORED MARKETING COMMUNICATION' on 18/09/23, that;
"Indicative valuation: We are withdrawing our fair value estimate for Orcadian due to
the conditional nature of the HOA; however, based on our modelling we estimate that
the value of Orcadian Energy’s 18.75% interest carried until first oil, amounts to an
unrisked-success case NPV10 value of $129M ($8.72/b) – assuming a long term oil
price of $85/b, inflated at 1% p.a and assuming the Energy Profits Levy remains in
place after 2028. Of course, that is a conceptual valuation assuming the field is entirely
derisked inclusive of funding risk, which is not the case."
So potentially £1.33 a share if = (Current share price is 26p being about 20mil MCap, times 5.1 to get to the quoted £105 mil MCap ($129 mil) = £1.33 a share.
However, on 19/01/23 they said;
"We leave our fair value estimate unchanged at 260p, which is premised on a
$100/b long-term oil price and includes 20% of the success case value of the Pilot
field."
So am I assuming this could currently be worth 18.75% of £2.60, so only 0.4875p a share with the signed contracts?
I know there's more in the pipeline for Orcadian, and the 19/01 release didn't include the additional oil/gas of spring 2023 but 'Pilot' signed contract alone is the price I'm interested in. My Maths isn't great, so don't take the working-out as perfect.
Thoughts?
