Trickymatters that is so wrong (& therefore misleading) I hardly know where to begin. They are transferring the reposnsibility for legacy direct client accounts to Fidelity. They will still be running the funds in which those clients (& others, in fact mainly others) are invested.

GreggsStottie - which fund is L&G closing? Morningstar https://www.morningstar.com/stocks/xlon/odx/ownership suggests their holding was split across many (>12) funds, none of which appear to be closing.

I hope the idea that L&G sold because they are closing a fund isn't just another piece of LSE imagineering masquerading as "research"...

I don’t offer a view on the relative efficacy of the PCR and LFT tests that are being conducted. I am concerned though that we have built a huge edifice on the foundation of PCR testing and that there are many vested interests as a result. It would be healthy for this to be subjected to constructive challenge.

TWatcher I think you have hold of the wrong end of the stick. We don't know that the PCR test is as accurate as you maintain. The LFT testing outcome might well be evidence for this.

Pay attention to this. It leaves the government in a tight spot.

If the LFT tests are correct then the PCR testing conducted to date has massively overstated the prevalence of Covid19 (the disease) perhaps by by being way too sensitive to fragments of Sars-cov-2 and other coronaviruses. It means that the hundreds of thousands of asymptomatic carriers are in fact no such thing; they are uninfected not asymptomatic.

Perhaps this is why we are seeing efforts to discredit the accuracy/usefulness of LFT tests?

Chuggley - this topic requires recognition that marketing the companies products and marketing its shares are two entirely different tasks. Also recognition that Omega is a diagnostic test manufacturer that doesn't need to market its services at this point.

The marketing of the Abc19 test itself is being conducted by CIGA, who seem to have an active Twitter presence. I think we have learned in recent weeks that the government has first call on the tests being produced in any case.

Marketing ODX shares is a different question. The primary task of the company management team is to manage the business. I think they are very focussed on this right now. They are not sat around watching this board / Twitter and responding to every minute by minute move in the share price. My impression is that they are actually trying very hard to pander to the demands of their PI shareholders. We have seen regular and informative investor presentations for example. It's unreasonable to expect (as some do here) the company and its IR advisers to be firing out RNS's or messaging on Twitter every time there is a development in the Covid diagnostics space. In particular, do not expect the company to respond formally to exogenous events like the vaccine announcements.

To be useful this discussion requires more accuracy. Are you calling attention to failings in the marketing of the Abc19 test? To failings in the promotion of ODX's services to prospective clients? Or to failings in investor relations? It's not helpful to group all of these together as "marketing".

As per subject, Omega Diagnostics has been added to the names making up MSCI's Global Micro Cap Indexes.

The addition is effective November 30th. In theory it will mean that certain index funds and passive investors may start to hold Omega Diagnostics in their portfolios. Index replication is however a complex and surprisingly inexact science - don't expect a flood of TR1's.

Nevertheless this is a marginal gain in terms of the attractiveness of the company's shares to institutional investors.
