Tentative Signs !

I believe i was wholly justified in using the synonym " Tentative Signs " reported by the media to describe the long heated debate and considerable disagreement between Ministers and Health experts at the weekend. After going down to the wire several times Boris Johnson reluctantly set the provisional date 21st July for the legal obligation and lifting of covid restrictions.

Boris Johnson has since reiterated several times no final decision will be made before 12th July and will be still be dependant and subject to the latest covid data nearest to this date.

I'm not suggesting for one minute that PRA policy, for full resumption of UK bank dividends have changed.

In light of the latest fast moving covid data numbers the PRA may now have to re - think its current timetable and take carefully into consideration the current state of UK bank balance sheets and interim results before lifting the full restrictions ban on UK Bank dividend payments.

Since their last statement, PRA timeline policy approach to the full lifting of restrictions on UK Bank shareholder capital distributions may have shifted a little.
It may be unfounded speculation, nevertheless " Lets wait and see what happens ".

PRA may want to hold off its pronouncement on the resumption of UK Bank capital distribution payments, until after the major Banks issue their latest interim results.

A lot of companies will need new money, given the levels of debt now sloshing around the coporate sector that can't be paid back.
