If the UK decides to opt out of EU bonus restrictions American banks in London will be an advantage, European banks would lose out badly and would have to remain covered by the EU rules.

Positive market start today...... so far !
Suspect traders are taking out higher than usual short - term positions.
No reason at present for Lloyds breaking out of its current trading range.

App - based lender " Starling Bank " are biggest winners in the latest " Current Account " switching wars.
Surprisingly Bricks and Mortar bank " Virgin Money " also making sizable gains in new figures recently published.

Interim Dividend 0.67p ..... disappointed but not surprised, this was always going to be the case.
PRA dividend restraint directive ( in all but name ) continues to put the kibosh on UK Banking Sector share prices.
Where will Lloyds share price go from here ?

The exposure of the Index to the UK Banking Sector has been detrimental to the poor long -term performance of the FTSE100.

The reasons for such a poor performance in addition to the 2008 Financial crash is low investor confidence and trust coupled with low interest rates that continue to squeeze bank profit margins.

I take your point, many of these Challenger Banks will be subject to mergers and Takeover's in the not to distant future.

My main concern are the large Investment banks particularly JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs, and Washington's insistance on any future American UK Post - Brexit trade deal must include " total market access " to UK Financial Services.

May be only a tiddler. nevertheless the sheer number of new Digital start up banks and their apparent limitless funding, puts further pressure on UK high street traditional banks.

The sale will be conducted by Morgan Stanley on an Off - Market sale to the highest bidders, and through the process of accelerated bookbuilds by Institutional Investors.

The first tranche were sold in 2015 ( 330 P ) at a 2.3 % discount on the closing days market price and likewise again in 2019.

To be sold via the Market at a discount price to friends in the City !

Some sanity now returning to the market in today's early morning trading, after monday' sharp sell - off, of equities.

You know damn well large Institutional Investors always express their holdings and exposure in percentage terms and the total number of shares currently held in any particular company.

You clearly stated in your original post, you have ( not had ) a 7 digit number of shares in Lloyds second only to HSBC and the first digit is not 1, no reference to the word " valuation " was ever made in your original post.

It would have been far simpler and less confusing just to add your name and the number of Lloyds shares currently held to the list, requested by author of the post.

To this day, and In the eyes of many " Bob Diamond " remains the unacceptable face of Banking !
