Have to really feel for someone like CMG who was topping up at 7-8p. Tried to warn him that he could get them cheaper (which is now nearly proven) but the poor sod seemed determined to pay more for them. Maybe a sense of loyalty to other scuba divers here?

I don't think anyone said they were lending in the believe it is a dud, ad? But the reason they are only investing small sums is because there's massive risk of failure attached to solg as a company. If we were highly likely to realise true value, or to build the thing, someone would be splashing orders of magnitude more cash.

It's peanuts until something material changes. As ever, lots on this board live in hope of that change being a positive one (hence chat about licences being granted, elections won, low hanging fruit studied or infrastructure being easier to install that usual). For balance, there's a chance that none of this comes in before the next allocation of funding, the sp slips into the 5s and the only way to keep the lights on is to sell another billion shares for a year's cash burn.

Successful mining majors are speculating when they invest in companies like solg. No, they wouldn't invest if there was no realistic chance of return, but the scale of their investment reflects their confidence. Like placing a bet, you don't go all in if you don't think you're going to win (bluffing not part of this analogy).

The reason FN, Jiangxi etc have made very small investments so far is because of the huge risk associated with the type of mine needed here, the jurisdiction, the lack of government credibility etc. If this was a safer punt, majors with deep pockets would be spending the billions. The reason it's £18m here and $25m there reflects the current significant risks.

If you need evidence that this is true, just remind yourself how the FN/O funding is structured. We only access money when significant concerns are removed. Hence we've only had one small chunk and the rest is so delayed we were forced to sell shares owned by the company for just 25% of what they have been worth in recent years.

Again, not a deramper. Haven't said it's going bankrupt because I don't currently think it is. As I've long said, this has got ages to run, and it will go down as well as up. Almost certainly down first. If you want plenty of shares, get them when they're cheaper than the currently are. If you have lots of shares, perhaps consider selling a few to a simpleton willing to buy now, and then get a load more at a later day. If your reason for not doing this is FOMO, I shouldn't worry: there's been almost nothing to miss here.

But 8p wasn't a good price. Compared to all the prices it's been since 8p on its way down to 6.8p. So you'd be mad to say 8p was a good price when it's below 7p.

You can be in and out all you like, it's still about timing. Buying at 5p will always be better than buying at 8p.... Your average will be worse if you over pay. Do you know that? Lol

£1000 at 8p is 12500 shares. At 5p it's 20000 shares. If it reaches 75p (lol, very funny 🤣) that's over £5k difference.

You can say £5k between ~£9k and £15k is nothing, but scale this for proper investments and it's significant. So it probably should matter to you.. but you do you. If you want significantly fewer shares because you bought in too expensive, that's obviously fine!

Need, my observation of Quady's autistic behavior (fixed thinking, not following conversations, not using humour, taking things literally) wasn't meant as an insult, because he's harmless. Slug on the other hand is easily taken in. He seems to be able to read and write, so there's no excuse for his lack of critical thought. He's either willfully ignoring sensible conclusions, or he's thick. Less an insult, more an observation.
