It's not beyond the realms of possibility the begging bowl could come back out to prop the ailing balance sheet.
Please shareholders can we have some more!
Debt levels are eye watering, in times of risk off stocks with high debt get pummelled , can they service it if margins in the US deteriorate.
Lack of drivers, guidance certainty on USA margin probably having a negative effect.
Not to mention the geo political uncertainty, energy costs, Russia are gonna screw the West until Putin gets what he wants.
Thought it was today
Must be on the radar of PE at these levels.
from Minerals Technologies Inc. 18 months ago was 130p cash.
14 months ago Innospec were offering 160p 50% cash/shares.
160-175p cash offer might be enough with the current declining sp and recession fears.
Must be some inflationary costs, raw material etc hitting ELM bottom line.
I live in hope another bid will be forthcoming, how far will the sp have to fall before someone shows their hand.
Sub £1 looking possible, the directors should hang their collective heads in shame at the value destruction under their watch,...that rebuffed bid £1.60 looking great value now!
SGC has gone, FGP under offer, NEX could be a tasty morsel for PE at £3.25 with the growth plan 2023-2027.
Other than an offer could be a slog to get back anywhere near pre-pandemic highs, don't forget there was also the cash raise a year or so ago which dilutes previous high.
FirstGroup considers takeover offer from I Squared Capital
In my opinion some are quite content to feather their own nests until they receive golden goodbye retirements.
£2 looking light years away now but the gravy train keeps on rolling for the chosen few, lashings of jam tomorrow promised though!
If SNR was such an attractive proposition where are the bidders of the implied value,.. was something like £2.20-£3.50 it was claimed as part of the defence based on peers takeovers.
After the not to recent takeover failures the further the sp falls especially sub £1,.. would like to think bidders lurking gonna take a pot shot, £1.85 - £2
Apologies got my dates wrong you were referring to later that year.
Check the chart in shows Mar 2020,..84p.
I remember that day well it touched 68p intraday or there abouts as I tried to buy but there was only a small amount of shares available to buy, so invested elsewhere as it was the nadir for many shares
