Smokinjoe - I think the virus will remain with us for a long period and the world must learn to live and work with it. The only available tool so far to give confidence to airports, customs, factories is testing and antibody testing in particular to speed up de-confinement. It will also help understanding the extent of "herd immunity" and the effects of concentration of antibodies in blood on the duration of protection. Every country will need a database to monitor antibodies in its population. One can easily see that testing for antibodies will become a routine for at least a few years impacting on ODX business. This is regardless of a vaccine availability because even if a vaccine is available, we need to know who has and who hasn't antibodies because a vaccine won't work on someone with antibodies.

Pilgrim1 - When reality kicks in, ODX production capacity for POC tests will be working 100% for a few years. Then, say comes the vaccine - that is, if it comes - , we still need to singled out all those with antibodies to avoid unnecessary vaccine waste. In terms of medical diagnostic companies (lacking) in the UK, ODX will attract loads of attention from every quarter, including from abroad. IMO slowly but surely, it will end en up either taken over or becoming a large medical diagnostic company by taking over or merging with others (Mologic/Abington etc.) because we have small companies with fragmented products portfolio. Grouping all this portfolio of UK knowledge and expertise under one roof will result in a larger UK multi product diagnostic entity. Markets being butchered and GDP's slashed all over the world, the only hope to help re-ignite a recovery is in those who work to alleviate Covid 19 effects. I cannot any other sector to put my money when everything is sinking except in those involved in Covid 19 particularly in antibody testing. Patience is the rule. As many posters rightly said, it is a matter of time before the situation reverses positively. The adoption and generalisation of antibody testing throughout the world to allow people to go to work, travel etc. will change the whole picture. The world may remain living with this virus for a while. Many other viruses don't have a vaccine (HIV, Hepatitis etc.). Even with a vaccine, we need to singled out those with antibodies. So patience is the key.
