There will always be an after hours trade in closing auction if there are potential trades left on the books. A 5 min auction leading to an uncrossed trade which will form the mid price for end of day and kick off for next morning. That's used in the pre opening sale. I suspect ASX & LSE level out using this practise but not 100% in that. This is way we see the big numbers after hours we all guess if its a sell or buy. Its actually neither, its a half & half volume figure but is listed as a trade like other where the mid point supposedly 'guesses' whether it's a sell or buy. With sells outnumbered by 10-1 by the purchases , logic would say the SP would be moving northwards somewhat quicker. Add more fuel to the manipulated market claims I suppose. Conversely, we've also seen occasionally the opposite.

Exactly Brom. This was always going to have the potential of going off route because of its unconventional nature. This is what a lot of people didn't understand. Seahawks is right when he/she says people expected a gusher & we all know what happened. I've slowly been topping up ever since. Yes it didn't behave as expected last year, and it put us back 9 months or so. Just wait....

It so often is. The system is either flawed or manipulated to show these 'sells'. I had 2 last week doing same.

Thanks Garry, I had an rough understanding from checking out "swabbing" when DW mentioned it last year. But am I correct in saying this is classified as another type of Artificial Lift?

DW did talk about the possibility of Swabbing which I think is a form of AL. Perhaps Garry can confirm. But again it was got overtaken by the weather. I'm thinking AL is now the quickest way forward. My thoughts are DW is not going to get caught out again.
