Whilst we await news from last autumn's activities...a little background on Lamaune & the gold there:
On the 3rd December, 2009, Landore confirmed that they had made a “significant gold discovery” at the Junior Lake property in the vicinity of the Lamaune Iron deposit.
Drilling intersected “widespread gold mineralization” over 200 metres of strike extent in just the first area tested. Results included 3.0 metres @ 9.14g/t gold (Au), including 0.6 metres @ 35.63g/t Au.
As a result of this discovery, Landore staked an additional 80 mining claim blocks, for 17,216 Hectares, predominantly to the NORTH of the new gold discovery, effectively doubling the size of the Junior Lake property to 31,953 Hectares.
I expect most investors are now getting impatient for news. We know that Alex and the team have been beavering away, but I doubt that any of us really understand the complexities of what they are dealing with…in a very good way I hasten to add.
The property is huge, and extremely prospective, and so the difficulties in formulating a development strategy when there is an absolute plethora of goodies to choose from, must be quite a test. Alex is keen to preserve shareholder cash as we know, so he will really be wanting to maximise results v spend balanced against the fact that he will want to expand knowledge meaning he cannot simply go for “low hanging fruit”.
Whilst we all know the 4 main awaited headers at the moment; soil geo chem, eastern outcrop (Presumably sawn channel), Tect findings (perhaps), and Lam/Bam core infill sampling, I did wonder about other infill sampling possibilities…..
The so called Junior Lake, “gold everywhere” and “String of pearls” theories were well known to most LTH’s in the heady days of 2020/2021, but I wondered, (as we nervously and perhaps excitedly await some new specifics (especially Q1 drilly location(s) and commencement date)) wether the core infill sampling might include resubs from OTHER areas away from the obvious 2 (Bam/Lam) which are, in any event, separated by over 12 kilometres.
What I mean, is this (west to east)…
In 1988, Placer Dome drilled the western end of the property. Showings included 1.02m at 2.37 g/t au. I wonder if old core still exists, and, if so, has featured in the new infill programme? Probably unlikely I know, but would be interesting especially in view of this:
In 2023, soil sampling (See RNS Feb 2024) resulted in this statement:
“Anomalous soil samples and trends are associated with the Lamaune Gold prospect and continue west, to the historic Placer Dome Gold work near North Lamaune Lake. Historic diamond drilling within the area has encountered anomalous gold values in close proximity to the trends, with much of the region remaining untested."
