Appreciate the company want to get FID completed ASAP after the DFS is complete but the re-zoning of the corridor of land for the mine to the processing plant (presumably a pre-req to permitting completing) is not due until the end of 2024, so I dont see how FID can be complete before that

i listened to the interview quite a few times before posting it and he definitely says "project(s)" also noting that LSE:SAV spiked yesterday without any news. My personal conclusion is they cant be talking about funding for critical raw materials projects in the EU without including Cinovec. Prior to getting into this, the EIB was also talking about getting involved right along the supply chain which has to include mining and processing. Going to be an interesting week ahead.

the best news for zinnwald would be an offer from EMH. Not unrealistic given their lack of cash and it would certainly explain our deal with Ludhart.

I doubt there is any chance of an outside buyer coming in before the EIA/Mining permit is issued, I would also imagine that CEZ has first right of refusal anyway. To add complexity to this, the CZ government looking to buy out the remaining 30% of CEZ means they are unlikely to make a move on EMH until after this IMO, as they would need to buy the minority shareholders out of this enlarged and problem better valued position.

EU look very much like they are in panic mode in respect of a response to the IRA. Now calling January for a change to state aid rules. KC playing this absolutely right IMO in terms of the waiting game for EU grants and loans. considering the % of EV's being sold is increasing, especially in EU, a slowdown in VW's EV strategy is a going out of business model IMO

I think a decision for CZ as the VW gigafactory location for CEE could be a material driver for our SP rerate, I dont think it changes the picture that much, as if it wont be VW then it will be someone else..

@greenmachine, yes my understanding is the VW is considering a bigger site at Pilsen Airport for the CEE factory.

nice one @daveri007 - looks like the giga JV partner was VW and the bigger site is the airport, will be great for EMH if this is the case. Looking forward to next week in Brussels now. The good thing is that we'll get full transcripts of the EU politicians speeches and there are a few of them on the agenda. Pretty sure we re going to hear more wrt Cinovec.

for those that havent seen it, the feedback on the EIA submission was provided on August 16th '21. From the link that starfox provided and within that form, there is a czech pdf which can be downloaded and run through google translate. It gives quite a detailed walkthrough of the objections raised by various parties including government depts and the Usti region itself. Presumably they have been working through these for the last 14 months and will re-submit in the near future.

In connection to this and whilst we havent seen the detail of the MOU signed in April 22(CEZ, Geomet and Usti), there is a references to "compliance with all legislative standards; especially the EIA". Reasonable to assume that the MOU in part was designed to address some of the issues highlighted in the initial EIA response back in August 21. Since that press release, the working group that was formed has been focussed on the implementation of whatever is within the detail of the MOU; again reasonable to assume that once any changes related to the EIA objections raised by the Usti region and others have been addressed the revised EIA would be supported by Usti.

As starfox has noted, nothing appears to have resubmitted by Geomet but at least we can take a small amount of comfort from that fact the the response to the original submission was relatively swift.

High time that EMH provided more clarity around this.

100% agree - IMO our offtakes will be to the CEZ gigafactory and to VW, I'd be very surprised if VW didnt select the CZ to build their CEE gigafactory. Not sure how much of the initial production will be left over after that

so imagine how they would be feeling if they missed the chance to secure an offtake on our Lithium and it went to a competitor that meant their refined lithium came from China
