To blame it all on Brexit is too simplistic. I am going to think more about this because it has got me interested at a time when my portfolio has stagnated and there are few temptations to trade. Last week I met a woman who worked in child protection who looked blank when asked about county lines. I also met two young people who could not explain interest rates and the effect they have on buying a house. Ignorance plays a huge part.
Oh well I shall continue my thoughts on my afternoon walk.....

Your question got me thinking back and trying to see what happened to gain confidence. I truthfully am still unsure but at the moment I am beginning to believe it was the rise in the Uk property market and the ability to rent cars. It always pays to be optimistic. Today has been better than I expected but we have lots of false dawns.. This year reminds me of the summer of ten years ago. Nothing much really happened. Boredom led me to take Madam Spin on a cruise and we ended up a creek and missed the only spike of the season. This time it is not a problem as the vessel is in dry dock due to a collision!!

I have been switching off and watching is pretty pointless unless you are a day trader. I enjoy the odd day trade but with the markets as they are it can prove fatal. I have a varied portfolio and truthfully it simply goes nowhere. I have picked up a few dividends but where I used to re invest them now I take the cash. Whilst I have no pressing need for the cash until I can see where we are headed it is better earning a miserable 1.3%. It is my intention to sit on my hands. I begin to believe the world is getting itself in to a big muddle. No,point though in getting all tensed up.

Been in this for ages and ages. Would have been better to have invested in a container shipping line to Malaysia.... Sad but our leaders do not really worry too much about anything other than themselves..

This is up a tad at the moment but I fully expect it to close almost unchanged..

The amazing thing about the present market is the lack of temptation. I am not tempted to sell because this does not move and the rest of my watchlist does nothing either so no point in moving anything about. I have at least half my wealth in cash in a building society earning 1.3 % instant and it it out performing my share portfolio . It's a snore. .

I cannot at the moment see what is going to raise the sp much. We have had an update and another is not going to be of benefit until later in the year. A rise in the oil price may cause a bit more confidence to return. My feelings are we will bump along for some considerable time and life will be boring. The future though is always difficult to predict. If I was a politician I would probably be rolling a spliff or snorting a few rocks to pass the time. Who needs HS2 when every where you look there are more and more county lines..

It was in the orange mans central heating tank just in case he has mucked up the planets climate. Saw a poster which said Abortion is a denying life.
