Surrenderb, I do think it’s perfectly possible rampers might be able to dump onto a short-term pump of trump/putin plus a puffy broker note, but i don’t think a ceasefire will make any difference to the underlying *value* of EUA’s business. … price and value, two very different things.

sanctions a complete red herring imv, as already zero effect on any potential buyers of EUA’s cr*ppy licences, other than a small number of war crime complicit russkies.

i think the weird thing is that the expectation/hope of a s/p fillip on ceasefire is what’s been preventing the s/p from collapsing …. so will be interesting to see how the old adage, buy on rumour, sell on news plays out.

i suspect the company will try to use the next main pump to try to get a placing away, though appetite seems to be waning, particularly given the AIX farce.

1) if EUA assets are really worth billions, then why aren’t international investors - let’s say CITIC, for instance - who are not tied by sanctions against them buy those assets?

2) how will this company fund its ongoing costs, given it loses money when it mines, can’t sell its assets, and has no other revenue?

If you’re just saying that many entities don’t want to buy assets in russia because it’s a really risky, dodgy jurisdiction, then i wouldn’t argue with that … but that’s not the same as claiming it’s because sanctions won’t allow.

russia under putin and his associates will still be a shockingly bad jurisdiction, where the kleptocratic rulers make a mockery of property rights, long long after the dust has settled in ukraine.

You say you ‘can’t be bothered’ to look into it further, del, but that’s just an evasion from you …. there are zero sanctions in place preventing saudis, or chinese, or norwegians, etc, from buying licences to mine low grade metal ores in the kola from a tinpot london company.

? del, did you also read what the same article said about saudi’s kingdom holding recent investments? … there is nothing whatsoever to stop the saudis from buying assets from a london listed AIM miner if they thought those assets were really good and would make billions.

… same goes for chinese investment banks, whether CITIC or another. …. if you believe otherwise, please provide evidence that chinese entities are currently barred from buying assets located in russia from london listed firms … you won’t find such.

[alternatively, supposing just for the sake of argument that EUA’s assets *aren’t* worth much, because the mining economics are so poor,… ? then why would anyone want to buy them even if there were no sanctions of any kind anywhere?]

Woodlander, just supposing for a moment, for the sake of argument, that EUA has really valuable assets that others would want to buy … ? why would sanctions on a relatively small number of war crime complicit russkie oligarchs prevent someone else, like the KSA sovereign wealth fund, sultan of brunei, or major chinese investment bank, blackrock, etc etc, from buying those assets from this london listed company?

EUA is a very strange kind of mining share, where some of its biggest fans seem to have nothing to say about its mines, licences, cash flow and accounts, but instead keep trying to pretend that an investment in this share is entirely about what putin does in ukraine.

… meanwhile, clock keeps ticking on towards the next placing, since EUA makes no money mining, has failed to sell any of its assets despite years of trying, and has no other sources of revenue.

? how would a ceasefire in ukraine make any difference whatsoever to the mining economics of the licences that EUA has up in the kola peninsula?
