Actually, this RNS suggests there is separate technology for a closed trial

Not sure if there's a separate app or not.

That tweet from Aug 12th states: "The big day is almost here. As of Monday we'll be launching BigDish-to-GO, where you'll find restaurants offering delivery and pick-up!"
It was followed by a 'now delivering' announcement on the website with three participating towns on beta and a few restaruants configured for delivery in each town. The website says 'Now delivering' and 'coming soon' in the same banner, and I can no longer see any restaurants in the trial towns, which is quite confusing.
Tom Sumner (CEO) made the same announcement on LinkedIn on the same day, so I think the trial on the website was it.
The only person ever to talk about another parallel app that restaurants were being migrated to was Tanya (as advised by her 'techies'), but that never materialised.
Bournemouth has been trialing delivery on and off for the past 5 months, and 6 of the missing restaurants are from there, so it's possibly they are being reconfigured for delivery. The rest are pretty scattered though
6 Bournemouth
3 Reading
3 Basingstoke
2 Oxford
2 La****
2 Chippenham
2 Cheltenham
2 Beckford
1 Swindon
1 Melksham
1 London
1 Ledbury
1 Haslemere
1 Frome
1 Devizes
1 Cirencester
1 Carterton
1 Burford
1 Brook
1 Bath
There has been no suggestion of a delivery site Bob. As before, it will most likely be additional delivery features on the current website and app. If it was a brand new app, they'd have to start again from 0 downloads.
The list is still a factual list. I was simply wondering how I could count restaurants that decide to pay for the service. No need until new year.
Funding runs out end of 2020, so is something we should be talking about.
Total location count: 483
Total restaurant count: 2239
(London 306)
512 fully integrated (+8)
1727 advertising only
I changed from'fully subscribed' to 'fully integrated, as 'subscribed' implies they are paying for the service and nobody is yet.
How long is the free trial period? I keep a record of when restaurants joined the platform, so will be able to see if they are still present beyond their individual free trial dates. This would give us an indication of whether people are deciding to pay the monthly subscription fee or not.
For BigDish, there's a potential conflict of interest here. If a restaurant reaches the end of their free trial and decides not to subscribe (pay), then they should drop off the platform or switch to 'advertising only'. This attrition won't be helpful for BigDish's efforts to find funding, which may lead to them rolling restaurants into extended free trials to keep the numbers looking stronger. There's no way for us to know how widespread this may be outside of official company financial statements, so paying subscription estimates based on 'time on platform' will be very approximate. No doubt any individual org providing funding would perform due dilligence and uncover this, so rolling-over could potentially make fundraising by dilution more attractive.
There have been some additions during the day today. Latest figures:
Total location count: 480
Total restaurant count: 2231 (+10)
(London 306)
504 fully subscribed
1727 advertising only
Nice to see that all the new additions lately are fully-integrated with the platform (bookings managed via BigDish)
it will be a trade from earlier in the day reported late.
Funding doesn't necessarily mean dilution. In fact the aim is to not dilute.
From a June RNS
"As previously announced on 26 March 2020, the Company had engaged a boutique corporate advisory firm outside the UK with a successful track record in funding early stage consumer restaurant technology businesses. This was done with the intent of funding growth without the need for an equity placing. The Company has continued to pursue this over the past few months but acknowledges that a successful outcome may only be possible at such time when management can travel internationally"
I think it's reasonable and sensible to start asking questions about funding .... without being accused of apostasy. There are 15 weeks left of this (funded) year. They won't wait for cash to run out before they start trying to raise more.
Up to 2216 restaurants today btw (+10)
