Her question was delivered in a very polite manner and seemed to me to be a genuine request for knowledge about a subject she had little knowledge of. If questions such as hers are not asked and replied to then all readers of this board suffer from lack of knowledge. Is gold money???? what is money??? Money is a store of labour and wealth, it must be indestructible, divisible, finite and acceptable in return for goods and services. Therefore gold is money as it meets all these requirements. My musings on the POG is generally pointed towards traders, but if investing for (med/long term) my advice would be to purchase monthly on a regular basis and not worry about the price, it will go higher no mater what. The info i post is gleaned from the COT report,issued by the COMEX for the trading position up to Tuesday but released on Friday night. It clearly shows the different types of traders and their positions and sizes. The bullion banks are experts in trading this paper market and have several tools to move prices. They use news to their advantage and sell to drive down the price to hit traders stop losses. Spoofing was also a major weapon. There are also conspiracy theories suggesting central banks and the BIS desperately trying to control the price to protect the $ £ euro etc. JPM have not lost one single trade since they took over the short position at Bear Stearns. That is impossible in a honest market. ATB Speedy

Hi All. The long awaited COT report for COMEX gold is out. The bullion banks are suffering to the tune of approx $35billion. 40tons of gold was taken for delivery, normally contracts are settled in $s. With the $200 price drop the banks only managed to cover a small amount of their shorts. The longs hold damaging positions if they take delivery on the next closing contract. I see the bullion banks going for a further short lived price drop in an attempt to close more shorts. This is clearly nearing the ending of the gold price suppression and is extremely bullish for the POG/S and GGP. ATB Speedy

Hi All. The $ has broken below 92, this is extremely bullish for the POG, the next attempt to force the price down will not come until the end of Jan21 giving 2 months of gains coming. To add to the debate on the Juri deal. Normal in ground gold valuation rarely exceeds 10%, so our 25% of any potential finds is an outstanding deal, our BODs know what they are doing, just look at the SP. ATB Speedy

Morning Tigs. My question for the AGM was"will we be miners" well that question has now been answered (unless Hav gets bought out). My new question will be "will we be mining SWAG?" The POG has done what i thought it would and has bounced back from $1780 region, there was no COT report (thanksgiving) and i suspect some serious covering of shorts. Hi All. Newcrest and GGP are not buddies they are business partners. This deal would have been months in the making and each side would have been trying to get the best deal possible. Rest assured this is the best possible outcome for both. This deal derisks GGP and allows us to do what we do (find gold) and Newcrest to do what they do, get the shiny yellow stuff to the Perth mint. All good here. ATB Speedy
