Hi JSP. GGP is a leveraged bet on a rising POG. Explorers, developers and miners carry a degree of risk(mining is a dangerous game). Physical gold carries hardly any risk if held outside the banking industry apart from short term fluctuations (i will almost guarantee you the POG will never go to zero). I hold physical gold/silver Britannias and use my holdings as a deposit acct, selling and buying back as needed, Britannias are very liquid. I have been a buyer of gold since the 1970s and the purchasing power of gold makes the $s £s look silly and i fully expect this trend to continue, if not accelerate. ATB Speedy

Hi Jerry. I understand your enthusiasm for MTR being a play on CU and the supply and demand issues. To my knowledge their is no price manipulation in the CU space, apart from the Chinese stock piling, unlike the gold markets. I personally see a better return in the gold space than the CU space. As for Starvest would not their other poor holdings bring the value of their GGP holdings down. Are you looking at MTR and Starvest just to diversify or do you see a better return with them than with GGP. ATB Speedy

Hi All. Interesting developments in the gold and silver space. The banks have increased their exposure on the short side to nearly $30billion while the longs (managed money) have increased their position by 30000 contracts($6billion). The banks are in serious trouble and a short squeeze in the gold market is coming. The banks will have to cover their shorts soon and the only ways for them to do so is to pay out in $s or deliver the gold. If the longs hold out for delivery where are the banks going to buy 30million Ozs( half of world yearly production) of gold at todays price, answer is they will not be able to and will have to pay a higher price. Add to that the coming closure of unallocated gold trading (end of price suppression) and the profit potential for gold miners is off the scale. Prospects for GGP looks better and better.
Most PIs do not own gold or the miners and when the general market wakes up to the coming storm in the gold market the rush into this space will be massive. ATB Speedy

Hi The Learner. You say "speedy has got me thinking about Britannias". They are one of the best ways to store wealth and with the coming price increases a good way to increase wealth. Being CGT free and one of the most liquid assets around. When stored at place of purchase selling one or a thousand is as easy as selling stock, just faster, place a sell order and funds can be in your acct in minutes. With all the stress in the banking system why anyone would use the banks to store wealth is beyond me. £100k in the bank is losing at least £15/day and your money is at risk of a bail in and before anyone mentions the govs guarantee on £85k there is not enough funding to back this promise up. Physical gold in the form of Britannias is the best you can get. IMHO. ATB Speedy

Selling my wonderful home in Tenerife is not our choice but has been forced upon us by the stupid rules on Brexit ( can only stay for 3 mths with no return for 6 mths) plus all sorts of travel bans and ever changing rules. Hi BlueToff. Good decision. Depending on your level of purchase, lets assume 10 coins (approx £1360 at Fridays close, including premium) i would use and have used The Pure Gold Co. Low premiums and a good buy back policy. I would also ask them to store in their vaults, this is cost effective, safe and makes for easy partial or full sale when needed. Gold is for wealth preservation not wealth creation, having said that if/when the manipulation in the market comes to an end holders of physical gold will see wealth creation. How long you hold is up to you but 2 years should be the minimum. Hope this helps. ATB Speedy

Hi Tymers. I misread your post. Most posters here would know my answer. With £100k on Monday i would put £50k in here and £50k in gold Britannias. Never been a fan of all in. Just exchanged contracts on my home in Tenerife, so mid June it will probably be £200k here and £200k into Brits and the rest on a few bottles of bubbly. ATB Speedy

Hi Tymers. Your question makes no sense. Everyone is different and some who want new exposure to the gold market will buy at 28p others who are all in will have no more to add others who are in profit will just sit back and ride or slice. At 28p it may be that new drill results released push us to new highs and the POG/ CU spikes to new levels. Investors and traders will make a decision on the day and not before. ATB Speedy

Hi All. Goldmoney Insights have just released a report on the implications of the new regs to be introduced June 21 thru to Jan22. The LBMA and COMEX (gold/silver futures trading in unallocated accts) will no longer exist. This means the manipulation in the market will cease. The only futures trading will be hedging by producers. The effect of this on physical gold/silver prices cannot be understated. The effect on producers will be off the scale.
I mentioned in a post several weeks ago about the need for producers to create their own market place and sell direct to the refiners, now would be a great time for this to happen to take price control away from the criminals on the COMEX and give control back to the producers. The gold and CU at Hav is ours not JPMs we should have the call on what price we sell at and an OPEC style market place would achieve that. ATB Speedy

Hi All. We all know/think the SP will rise and keep rising, how far and how fast is the unknown. A few good drill results, a sale of the Tasmania assets, a spike up in the POG, a TO offer, could see this spike at any time. Hi All. Imagine you are an investment bank or HNWI or a hedge fund with $billions in cash waiting for the right time to invest that cash. Holding that cash is a negative (inflation). Now that gold is soon to be a tier 1 asset (and rising in price) i would imagine you would rather hold your wealth in a very liquid and improving asset(gold). It would only take a small % shift into physical gold to move the price in a dramatic way. ATB Speedy

Hi TMT. I would agree that only $500 AISC would be good but with the price of CU rising due to supply and demand metrics who knows. I study the POG not CU but i have seen reports that suggest a price for CU at a much higher level than today. Just a bit of fun asking Bamps to give a fig, but a negative AISC is not impossible just improbable. ATB Speedy

Hi TMT. The banks have tried to reposition but have found it impossible to close their shorts without taking massive $20billion hit. JPM have closed ages ago and left the rest in the brown stuff. The rise in physical coming will be significant when compared to the paper markets ETFs. I am just stating my view that selling ETFs now and buying physical will be a good bet. ATB Speedy
