Hi Napthman. You are correct, Basel111 has been delayed yet again, hence i said "when/if" in my post. The banks are so far in the hole over gold they are demanding more time to close their shorts. The problem for them is they are short at well below todays spot and will need to re defend the position at a higher price. I stated in a earlier post that they will probably short all the way to $2500 and earn on the forced fall back to $2000. The figs i am quoting are very rough estimates and the banks may try to defend at $2000 and force the POG down to $1600. Either way when they have gone square the surge in price will be pretty awesome. ATB Speedy

Hi Tig There are only 2 ways the POG will play out, up and up some more. The main factor affecting the POG is the paper market all other metrics mean nothing. When/if Basel 111 is fully implemented and the banks are forced to close their shorts, well you know the story from there. ATB Speedy

Hi Tymers. The POG, in the short to medium term, has a very small effect on our SP. What really interests me is where the POG will be in 2 years when we start producing. When the banks are out of their short positions we should see a dramatic rise and a massive increase in our value. Mix that with Bamps and his estimations on volume and we have a perfect storm coming our way. This is not a ramp it is just the way i see things developing. ATB Speedy

Hi Tymers. The POG may be irrelevant for our SP (at the moment) but it is highly relevant for big cos looking to increase their assets, just thinking of A and M. Newcrest are a prime target with so much in the pipe line and their expertise in getting the stuff out the ground. ATB Speedy

Hi All. The banks are well in the brown stuff with their shorts in the gold market.They do not like making a loss and will try to recoup some $s. I see the POG being allowed to rise to $2500 with the banks taking the short side then dropping the price to $2000 to rinse out the weak traders and reap profits. At the moment it is all or nothing for the banks and i see that strategy as their last attempt to reduce their losses. Long term holders of physical metals have nothing to fear but if you trade with leverage be very careful. ATB Speedy

Hi Tymers. Re your 17.59. The problem with relying on facts is when they are available every body else knows these facts and the boat is missed. I read and watch many reports regarding the metals and mining industry and most is prediction and extrapolation. I essence of the game is reducing the odds of a loss, very similar to backgammon. My preference is trying to understand the possibilities, reading Bamps and Bottles opinions on possible outcomes is fun and enlightening and is usable info that is not part of the official news. Hi Dillon. I expect high levels of volatility in the POG/S. With increasing central bank buying and investor demand out stripping supply the bullion banks will throw everything they can at the short side but it will be to no avail, best to remove those stops if you are trading. ATB Speedy

The slowing down of ops for drilling may even be a requirement for bank loans. Dilution for further assets is ok with me.
