Hi Jiffy. Holding gold in Bullion vault is ok for small scale retail investors, but their high premiums put me off. It matters not what form of storage is used, in hand, in vault or digital. What matters is the reasons for owning gold, wealth preservation, security and protection from the bent financial system. I had an acct with gold money and used a pre loaded debit card for years, very simple safe and with the benefit of deliverable gold. ATB Speedy

Hi All. There seems to be a flurry of activity in the digital gold coin space. I would not touch any of them unless the gold is deliverable, even then i would be suspicious. My preference would be a consortium of gold miners/producers getting together to form a market based on supply and demand and offering a gold backed debit card. Easy to set up and secure. Hi Nicki. I could not agree more. There is one point i would pull you on. You say" Spread betting is a mugs game". Mugs who spread bet lose all their money. Experts in spread betting can make fabulous returns. Not for me though, i prefer to invest, not trade. ATB Speedy

Hi CWRW. The banks need to square their books prior to Basel 111 being implemented. The prices i state are rough estimates and i may be well out. A rise to $2500 and drop to $2000 may well be stated as a rise to $2250 and a drop to $1950. The rebound from the engineered drop will be dramatic and i then see a gradual rise after rise for some considerable time. There is no limit to the level/oz priced in $s. As the $ losses its status the POG will rise in relation to that demise. There is no profit to be had from that type of rise only wealth preservation. The wealth appreciation will come from holding gold prior to the manipulation ending. ATB Speedy

Hi Tig. Back in the mid 1970s i consulted a financial adviser to direct me. I told him i wanted to invest in gold and silver, he laughed at me and told me to put £20k into a pension with Allied Dunbar (worst financial decision i have ever made) Luckily it was only a small part of my funds and the majority went into physical gold and silver and £8k cash to buy my first home.
I can visualize a youngster with newly found wealth asking a financial adviser about investing in GGP and being told to buy gilts and stock funds. ATB Speedy

Hi All. I posted about the slight fall in the PM market. My assumption was correct and the fall has been pushed aside and most has been recovered. The banks will do all in their power to square their books prior to Basel111. They have been forced to increase their shorts and are now around $35billion in the hole and counting. I stand by my forecast that the banks will short all the way to $2500/oz and then manufacture a drop to around $2000 to put some $s in the kitty. After this event the POG/S will go to levels that will astound most people. ATB Speedy

Hi Older. The PMs are being held back to allow the banks to square their books prior to the coming re rate. The kickstart will be delivered when the price fix comes to an end and PMs are priced due to supply and demand and not what a bank wants it to be. Not long to wait now. ATB Speedy

Hi Jack. There is nothing conspiritual about market manipulation, it is proven and documented at length. As with all manipulated markets the true value always wins. The only thing up for debate is the scale of the fix. Our present SP circa 20p is definitely below present value, only time will tell what that real value will be. ATB Speedy

Hi Tymers. PIs are a fickle bunch and sentiment is a massive mover of markets. When, not if, the sentiment moves positively towards the gold space and with the coming PFS and the breaks coming of the controlled SP we should see a substantial movement higher. As you say "We are close". ATB Speedy

Hi Tymers. Good question. My answer is a simple one. Not one investor in 10000 is in the gold space and most are totally unaware of what is about to unfold. When the market wakes up to the potential of gold miners we will be very near the top of the buying list. I must add, IMHO, as i may be totally wrong and misguided, but i dont think so. ATB Speedy

Hi All. The SP of GGP now, and in the future, depends mainly on the amounts of and the POG/CU.
The action in the gold/silver space is unprecedented. I will not bore you with a blow by blow account of what is happening but suffice to say there is a re rate coming and soon. If you have not yet purchased any physical gold/silver you are about to miss the boat and physical metal will not be available at any where near todays price. The effect this will have on our SP is staggering. Add to that the calcs from Bamps and the coming demand for CU and it is clear where we are headed.
I am considering forward buying the first 200 Ozs from our first pour to secure a reasonable price for our commemorative bars and will keep you informed of the response from the GGP office. ATB Speedy

Hi Monty. Russia, China and many other nations will dump the $, this trend has been happening for quite some time. The question is, what will replace it? My bet is a gold backed digital Yuan, there will be big problems for the world if that happens. The best way forward is to have a gold backed digital coin issued by agreement between the majority of the world govs (united nations) cue John Lennnon.
With the demise of the $ the POG will have to find a new standard to be measured against. How many hours would you work for an Oz of gold? ATB Speedy

Hi Tig. Have not read the report but any movement away from paper to physical is a good thing. The slight fall today in the POG/S has been the bullion banks taking advantage of the "good economic news in the USA". All this "good news" is totally insignificant in the grand scheme of things, with trillions of fiat producing a negative yield via bonds, treasuries and gilts and non paying debtors causing a lack of liquidity in the financial markets the best place to be is in the PM space. Anyone that thinks PMs are a bad investment should look at the long term charts for gold and compare the purchasing power of gold against £ $. I will be holding and buying more physical metals until fractional reserve banking blows up. ATB Speedy

Hi TMT Many thanks for the in depth reply. I fully understand the reasons pension providers and nervous investors buy Treasuries and gilts (safety and liquidity). Not for me though, gold is safe and liquid but is a longer term prospect. ATB Speedy

Hi TMT. Good post, but when there is so much debt giving a negative return a tipping point is being reached. Why would investors "invest" billions of $s in US treasuries to lose funds year on year, it makes no sense. Outside the USA investors are dumping US treasuries. Around the world HNW individuals and central banks are buying physical gold not the Ponzie scheme that is US treasuries. ATB Speedy
