Hi Volvic. Fractional reserve trading in the PMs market is off the scale. Very few, if any, PM ETFs hold what they say. The time for moving away from ETFs towards physical gold is now. Add to that HNW individuals and family offices demanding physical delivery from the COMEX and increasing retail demand around the world. Hi Volvic. The recent drop in the POG is only the start of a very volatile time for the POG/S. The banks are still $30billion short and will do all they can using false info and coordinated news/statements from the FED to keep the lid on the PMs market and make the $ look valuable. Any wealth apart from owner occupied residential property(and arable land) should be moved towards the PMs market. The coming reset for financial markets is long overdue and all investors should rethink their position. There is always a better, bigger gain to be had else where but for peace of mind and security gold will do for me. ATB Speedy

Hi Red. I have no intention to spread fear, just awareness of things to come. If what i propose fails to materialize holding physical PMs will still be a sensible thing to do. When the manipulation of the PM market finishes wealth will be created for PM holders. If the financial markets crash holders of PMs will benefit. PMs have done their job for 1000s of years no reason to suspect a change. ATB Speedy

Hi Red. HSBC sp is dependent on credit and debt expansion. whilst that expansion is taking place the sp for HSBC will expand until total collapse along with the rest of the financial market. To hypothesize, HSBCs SP should go to zero and GGP go to infinity. Not a good social outcome but history says it will take place. ATB Speedy

With the unprecedented amount of fiat being materialized across the globe and the coming tsunami of inflation, gold and stock such as GGP will increase at an rate equal to the amount of fiat being created. At the moment the PMs market is being suppressed to make the $ £ and the equities market look good. The only reason the stock market looks good is the QE being absorbed into that space. When the PMs market is reset to reflect the amount of fiat being produced our SP along with all well run PMs producers will run up to levels that will astound the unresearched. The coming financial and social upheaval will not be pleasant and the unprepared will see a massive drop in their wealth. The well prepared will suffer but not as much and physical gold will soften the coming financial upheaval.
I am prepared for the incoming abuse from the uninformed brigade for this post. I may be wrong with my forecast of the troubles to come and gold may turn out to be relic of the past. Place your bets. You know where my chips are positioned. ATB Speedy

Buying second hand gold chains should only be done by experts who know what they are buying, most could not tell a 9ct chain from a lace of copper. Gold coinage (sovs and brits) have been and will remain one of the best and most liquid assets one could invest in. This Earnest fella must have purchased some really dodgy stuff to only achieve 30% of spot. My advice is stick to reputable bullion dealers and only buy coin of the realm. ATB Speedy

Hi Codders. Tymers has answered in exactly the same way as i would have apart from the large purchases. If you have a large amount of funds to store what are you going to do? put it in the bank, buy bonds, stocks, put it in your sock drawer? My preference would be 1oz gold Britannias stored at place of purchase (tax free and very very liquid). Short term they may drop in price but over time gold will do what it always has, preserve your spending power. Gold plays the same as GGP are not east to find and mining is a risky game. Most explorers that strike it lucky are sold or taken over at a fraction of their worth. The Hav find and the deal GGP has done is a very rare event and going "all in" looks very appealing, but for me a split between brits and GGP allows me sleep at night. ATB Speedy
