Hi all. Interesting start to the new year. Gold priced in £s at near ATH. With over $30trillion held overseas via paper $s and financial "assets" the world is waking up to the fact that the $ is bust and are taking steps to sell $s and rotate into currencies that are backed by commodities.
The bull run in PMs will see massive inflows into the miners. GGP is in a perfect position to take advantage of the coming wall of investment demand. ATB Speedy

Hi All. To add to that it must be said that profits from golds rise due to inflation is a taxable profit but with no real profit made. The best form of gold, by far, is gold Britannias. As Del boy would say "no income tax no VAT". Use the gift of no tax to the max. ATB Speedy

Hi First. No not me. Central banks have bought net 673tons (world gold council data, this fig could be revised) in 2022 with China accounting for 32tons in Nov alone. This is the highest in decades and shows a move away from $s. Holders of USA debt are scared to death and the exit from $s will only accelerate. ATB Speedy

Hi Culpepper. That last post of yours highlights the fact that you do not understand short term trading. After a significant rise (say 10%) any day trader would place a short to profit from the pull back. Over the year that would provide plenty of profit and contain the SP. ATB Speedy

Hi All. I care not one bit about the shorts, their actions are but a thorn in the side. I highlight the shorting issue not to create concern about the SP but to put it into perspective. Traders, short and long, use charts and investors look at fundamentals and the fundamentals for GGP are off the scale. ATB Speedy

Hi Zoros. Please read my last post about volumes, over 10% of trades with borrowed stock can make a difference. In one sentence you say borrowed stock is not countable as short and in the next you say 31mill shorted. Please make up your mind. You also say the market is looking at 2.9mil ozs therefor the 8/9p price for GGP is a correct sum , i am sure many, many investors laugh in the face of that. ATB Speedy

Hi Panama. The amount of stock shorted is insignificant when looking at total stock issued, but when looking at volume and amount of stock on loan for any particular day the %s are enough to make a difference. I was there at the town hall meet when SD said the shorts are just individual traders and he thinks there is no grand scheme, he may be right, but those individual traders are making a difference (for now). Shorting is generally looked at as a black art but in reality it is just inverse trading. The risks now for the shorts are ever increasing and they will soon dwindle to insignificance.
Really looking forward to the next Stag meet in the spring and a higher SP. ATB Speedy

Hi All. The short is still on. With volume at 11mil and the stock on loan increasing by 1.5mil, well over 10% of yesterdays trading was orchestrated by the shorts. Those that say the short is insignificant must have blinkers on. Luckily this will come to an end as the short gets over run with buying as the production date draws closer. Hold your stock.
