They're audited by EY governed by IAS and IFRS, SOX Controlled and have a strong BOD. The controls that were implemented post Enron make it virtually impossible to manipulate as MW suggest. Please also remember that Revenue Recognition is governed to the hilt at present due to new legislation!
The problem is this, investors are still scarred from Enron, but more recently Carillion and Debenhams. Markets react on intangible perceptions as well as fact. I'd fully expect once the banks, pension funds etc have done their due diligence then this will fly. We must remember that they are investors not speculators!

If the market is unaware of the news then yes technically it would be insider trading however they stated to the market their intention to buy due to the short attack.
A buyback also appears to be in the publoc demain but not yet validated. They will of course know the performance of the company to date and the strategy going forward, that's unavoidable inside knowledge as its their job.
That's why the market/PI see it as very favourable imo

For directors to buy/hedge at these levels, especially if they know something that we don't.

Clearly these people have one focus, and that's to destroy Woodford's investments. They'll do anything to smear his name, even that means sabotaging a perfectly respectable business.

The share value seems extremely low at present compared to expectations. Ive been building a stake over two years however it seems that im just averaging down here rather than achieving growth - which doesn't concern me while im in my 30's and making substantial growth elsewhere.
My plan is to keep buying here for the next 3 years, while the share is unloved it seems a logical strategy. However does everyone share the brokers opinion and therefore are we expecting a sudden upward trend on the horizon?

UKOG, too risky for me. SRB, looks good, i'm going to keep my investment in here for the long term but add elsewhere.
BMN looks good, LLoyds has potential post the brexit scaremongers, C4XD and INDV are undervalued at present imo

They're not going to change the way that they account, and nor should they.
The company makes money and returns value to their investors, why would they change on the back of a short attack?
They're compliant, within the rules and most companies should use financial instruments to the best of their abilities, especially when dealomg with FX, derivatives and Mark to Market transactions.
I'm please that they have held their ground on this, i've analysed their Balance Sheet and its both transparent and measurable.....I fail to see MW's point.

It's all the bankers, share holders, Auditors, legal team, empoyees that could of been finished/tarnished due to an opportunistic prat wanting to make a quick buck.
I hope they throw the book at him, however on a positive note a lot of us will have increased our holding knowing full well that regulation makes virtually impossible for an Enron esq scenario to unfold again.

Why are people convincing themselves that this is not a business?
Rosen law firm, lawyers not businesses, are opportunists. Where there's a claim, there is also a gulible client willing to part with thousands of pounds to them. Imo

Not sure on that one chap, all depends on the share take up. They do appear to be in high demand based on the over subscription. Additional shares for cash shouldn't change the share value as it's an asset swap.
I'm more concerned that the MD disposed of some shares - Hopefully it's because he had his own cash needs.
Good news will certainly propel the business.

It's a good egg. A good business in the making, i can see this doing a Burford style rise over the next couple of years.

That is big, something to do with the placing?
I cant see an ordinary shareholder selling such an amount.
