The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
I have been in CCL, DTG and a few other travel stocks over the last two months. I did try and suggest on the DTG board a couple of weeks ago that progress on Covid defences would be a game changer for travel & leisure stocks but was shot down for cross promoting a particular pharma stock.
I think that you (tricky752) are spot on about what will happen with T&L stocks if any pharma comes up with a successful vaccine but also a rapid antigen test...as this will come sooner.
Oliver Dowden (Culture Secretary) heavily back peddling on weekend headlines about HM Govt having a vaccine ready through Oxford Uni by as early as September. They appear to have allowed the story to run wildly out of control in the media from it's inception late on Friday.
It's crazy to think that someone would go on to their usual BB (advfn) to suggest that they are being mimicked on another BB (lse) and then initiate their first post under what must be their 80th new avatar by pleading with admin that they are not who we all know they are. Hi Capa.
I always struggle to understand why someone invested elsewhere, like IMM & SNG, would promote those companies he is invested in, but do all he can do to bad mouth other companies, like AVCT, where he is clearly not invested.
A normal person would stick to their own turf and leave others to theirs. Your negativity is most unlikely to make the slightest bit of difference to the final outcome for AVCT.
Have a nice weekend.
No need wolves2211. I'm simply amazed at the price action this morning. Bargain time here...and to be honest, if I was invested in NCYT, albeit they are more affected by the Roche news, i'd probably top up there too. Some investors perhaps do not understand the volume of tests required in both areas of antibody and antigen, and the MMs are praying well on that this morning.
Thanks to the MMs for a great buying opportunity this morning. I pity the sellers who simply read a headline and don't understand the content. Hopefully a few more of us will pick up a bargain or two this morning before the MMs finish their smash and grab.
Looks like MMs will take us down on a little fishing trip first thing.
Very clear message on BBC re the Roche test this morning explaining that this test will be done 14-21 days after symptoms show etc etc. It definitely is of great importance, but it's not in competition with antigen tests.
Pathetic attempt Brenda. I doubt I you have even read never mind understood the article in the DM or Guardian. 1. Its not actually ready and/or been ordered yet. 2. It’s an antibody test. 3. It takes a blood sample that needs lab testing. 4. Therefore it’s in a different area of the market altogether.
Granted it will be of huge importance in the fight, but it will be used in an entirely different way from what we are planning with Cytiva. And please also remember that a person may end up having multiple tests for antigens as time goes by (at work, at airports etc etc)
I suspect that on non news mornings the MMs will simply drop us a little bit to pick up what they can...then they will happily allow a trade range of 3-5p either side, while making money on the ups and downs. All changes on next news.

Remove the gaps in the address.
140k per week in Norwich alone. "The test, done by taking a cheek swab, is sent to a lab to seek evidence of the ‘antigen’ – the virus causing the illness."...Wait until they find out that there is a test that will avoid the use of labs.
@Crooty....for you information, that was not intended as a ramp. I was pointing out that contrary to what the naysayers are saying about airlines, flights, cruises etc. the introduction of rapid Antigen tests will make a huge difference to their future.
So with all due respect, mind your own business and either accept or do not accept my advice about a matter that will be of huge importance for DTG and other airline/cruise leisure groups. I will continue to offer advice where I think it might help..
Oh, and by the way, that is the very reason that I bought back into DTG again today.
I'd seriously suggest researching exactly what Avacta's Affimer actually does. I'll not bore you with the detail here, but once the rapid test is complete and hits the market, the game will have changed forever.
