It’s just a point ! I think it would help if you could use both ! There’s a lot of M&S long standing customers who may not like the Acadia app. It’s not rocket science putting a tweet in an app to be able to do your shopping in the M&S app and use Ocado to deliver. The assumption every M&S shopper is a shareholder is wrong. The average M&S shopper WILL use the M&S app. A tweak in the app which they may well be doing I think would help retain older shoppers and newer ones. Having it usable on both platforms cuts out any losses. So really not so ridiculous. Think like a shopper not a shareholder. Possibly an IT tweak that would cost very little money.

Mmm that needs addressing, most people will I think go straight to the M&S app for food, maybe a little tweak will allow you to fill your basket and go to checkout and tick Ocado delivery ! I know that’s how I’d do it anyway.

I live in Crosby village in Liverpool, it’s a nice village in the throes of modernisation. Sites are available and the surrounding areas would make this a very profitable food store. They came close to buying land about 5 years ago but it fell through. I hope they do go for it now.

Food halls, online shopping and a catalogue for clothing. Our local store has a clothing dept but it’s rarely used and would be better served expanding the food court.

I’d suggest best business practice is get rid of as many rented properties and change to ownership, dead money no longer being thrown away. The retail market has changed massively and to keep ahead of the game you cut waste. The Ocado deal is good news but the benefits of owning your own buildings are substantial. £1 coins on the asset sheet.
