The New York State Gaming Commission has received six applications for mobile sports betting platform provider licenses covering 13 operators.
Betfair Interactive, trading as FanDuel, has submitted a license application in partnership with Bally Bet, BetMGM and DraftKings.
Sports Information Services Limited, trading as Kambi, has submitted two applications, one in partnership with Fanatics Sportsbook and Penn Sports Interactive, and another in partnership with Caesars Sportsbook, Resorts World, PointsBet, Rush Street Interactive, and WynnBet.
Standalone applications have also been submitted by bet365, theScore Bet and FOX Bet.
It's certainly not the most exciting share at the moment ... calm before the storm and all that! News however could land at anytime.
I've picked up a few more over the last few days and got myself quite a lump now (by my standards) and I'm still highly positive about the prospects.
Good luck all!
Simply Wall St have a "fair estimate" for Webis of 38p ... that would be really nice :-)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 25 May 2021
Webis Holdings plc
("Webis" or the "Company")
WatchandWager Receives West Virginia Wagering License
New license allows company to accept online wagers from state residents
The board of Webis, the group specialising in pool wagering and the operators of WatchandWager and Cal Expo, the Californian harness track, is pleased to announce that its Advanced Deposit Wagering ("ADW") business, WatchandWager.com LLC ("WatchandWager") received a one-year ADW license approval from the West Virginia Racing Commission ("WVRC") on 18 May 2021. The license will be renewable annually.
The ADW license from the WVRC allows WatchandWager to accept wagers from the state's nearly 1.8 million residents. West Virginia is the home of Charlestown Races and Mountaineer Racetrack for Thoroughbreds, as well as Tri-State Mardi Gras and Wheeling Island greyhound tracks. The ADW license from the WVRC adds to WatchandWager's licenses from California, Colorado, Kentucky, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, and Washington. Combined with WatchandWager's multi-jurisdictional ADW license from the North Dakota Racing Commission, the company can accept wagers from 25 states where online pari-mutuel wagering is legal.
Ed Comins, President of WatchandWager, commented:
"We are delighted to receive this license from the West Virginia Racing Commission for WatchandWager. We believe that this license will be mutually beneficial to both the company and the state in the forms of revenue and taxes generated from wagering. We are equally pleased to support West Virginia's horse breeding industry by making contributions to purse funds that reward the racing and ownership of West Virginia-bred horses and greyhounds."
WatchandWager will continue to monitor potential licensing opportunities and requirements, and the company will consider additional applications in due course under the advice of legal counsel.

Legal Sports Betting Could Get To California Sooner Than You Think

Totally agree Poppers - Im a fairly long term holder average around 1.6p so a happy holder. Got a wedge in an ISA and another bigger wedge in a SIPP.
As you say and inspite of the recent re-rating we are still completely undervalued. I would have thought around £50m (10-15p) is closer to where we should be right now but thats just my opininon. I also think we're worth substantially more than that to the right predator! For sure all the current licence action in the US can only be good for Webis.
Im a little surprised weve not heard any reaction from the company with regard to New York as yet. Whilst California is the big one they do list New York amongst the key licences held so I thought we may have had some sort of official comment (especially as they are actively looking to increase the profile). That said I have total confidence in the board and Im sure they know better than me!
Do we hold a licence in Maryland Poppers? I thought it was just California, Colorado, Kentucky, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, and Washington but I may be incorrect.
Regardless, its all good news and adds value and focus.

A bit more information on the actual agreement to legalize mobile sports betting in NY
https://www.morningstar.com/news/dow-jones/2021040713106/new-york-lawmakers-agree-to-legalize-mobile-sports-betting-update
https://www.wsj.com/articles/new-york-lawmakers-agree-to-legalize-mobile-sports-betting-11617826580 :
New York lawmakers were set to legalize mobile sports betting as part of the new state budget headed for final approval on Wednesday.
The state will select at least two companies through a competitive bidding process this year to operate online wagering, according to language in the $212 billion spending plan. Members of the Democrat-controlled state Senate and Assembly approved a budget bill with the provisions on Wednesday. Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he would sign the measure. ....
The budget language requires the Gaming Commission to issue a request for proposals by July and award licenses later this year. The commission must select two platform providers, but they may partner with multiple operators, or skins, which provide consumer-facing products.
Looks like agreement has finally been reached on the budget and it does include mobile sports betting. From New York Post:
"The sides have also agreed to legalize mobile sports betting — which lawmakers say will increase revenue this fiscal year by $99 million and then by as much as $500 million by 2025-’26."
