New York lawmakers were set to legalize mobile sports betting as part of the new state budget headed for final approval on Wednesday.
The state will select at least two companies through a competitive bidding process this year to operate online wagering, according to language in the $212 billion spending plan. Members of the Democrat-controlled state Senate and Assembly approved a budget bill with the provisions on Wednesday. Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he would sign the measure. ....
The budget language requires the Gaming Commission to issue a request for proposals by July and award licenses later this year. The commission must select two platform providers, but they may partner with multiple operators, or skins, which provide consumer-facing products.

Looks like agreement has finally been reached on the budget and it does include mobile sports betting. From New York Post:

"The sides have also agreed to legalize mobile sports betting — which lawmakers say will increase revenue this fiscal year by $99 million and then by as much as $500 million by 2025-’26."

I think I read that they wern't meeting yesterday but I may be wrong on that.
We're very close to an agreement (whatever it may be) and I think it is highly likely that we will get news later today (allowing for time difference). Apparantly if the overall budget is not agreed today it impacts on state workers:
"Final drafts of budget bills are expected to be completed and voted on early this week, officials said. The state’s fiscal year began on April 1. Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, a Democrat, said last week that if a state budget isn’t adopted on Monday, about 39,000 state workers may have a delay in receiving their paychecks due this week.
Lawmakers would have to pass a budget extender by Monday to keep the government running and avoid impacting payroll disbursements for state workers until they finalize a budget deal.
Still under negotiation is a plan to legalize mobile sports betting that could eventually raise as much as $500 million a year, by Cuomo’s estimate."

New York is hours away from a decision on whether it will include mobile sports betting in its new fiscal year budget.
The budget deadline was April 1, but key issues — including legalization of mobile sportsbooks — are expected to delay final passage by at least 24 hours.
The news out of Albany is that New York can expect mobile sports betting to be included in the fiscal year (FY) 2022 state budget as a hybrid. That would likely combine a lottery-based sportsbook model (which Gov. Andrew Cuomo wants) and private partnership model.
No final word yet on how many operators or skins are expected, but key lawmakers including Sen. Joe Addabbo say they are still pushing for as many as they can get.

As much as I'm really not happy with the attitude and actions of the board I do feel these are very much undervalued and so, as I was able to buy at only a little above 10p, I've topped up with a few more today. Good luck everyone.

I agree GS but my frustration is the number of deadlines that are missed or pushed back - one has to question the credibility of the board. I for one have little faith left in anything they tell us.

Guilty ... it was my 14 share buy :-) I had a few quid left in an online account and so I spent it to round my CRV investment up. Makes little commercial sense I know but it does ease my OCD :-) I have been invested here for quite a while - majority in my SIPP as I have a feeling long term about this one ... it's certainly NOT the average share!
