RE: Sunday Roast between the lines?19 Nov 2023 21:02
Panama, FWIW my opinion on what I think will happen regarding the ownership of Havieron, has never changed since I first made my decision to invest.
Ever since Gervaise Heddle & Callum Baxter used to make those slightly awkward appearances on “Proactive Investor” making a case for just how the market didn’t yet get it, Havieron has always been called “World Class”.
I don’t think anyone wants to divest this behemoth of a find, certainly not Newmont, and as SD has stated many times definitely not GGP unless an “eye watering amount” of dosh was offered to tempt us to consider it.
I just can’t see Newmont selling to anyone until they at least know the full potential of what’s in the ground.
It’s no coincidence that anyone involved in mining keeps mentioning 40M ounces, and multi-decade mining.
Fortunately for GGP, we hit the ground running with the Had005 discovery hole, and this has led to a frenzy of opportunistic discovery companies piling into the Patterson region.
Who knows over the next ten years what will be found, maybe nothing, maybe a handful of other discoveries, and this is why I just don’t think Newmont especially having the 20 MTPA mill at Telfer, with all that capacity will just walk away.
Even though Tom Palmer has stated that at present Telfer/Havieron doesn’t meet Newmonts targets of being a 500,000 oz, ten year mine life, who’s to say in another few years it won’t be ?
Over the last three years the chat, not only on this platform, but on others too, has dissected every scrap of information ever released to within an inch of it’s life, and the conclusion’s posted in 99.9% of cases have delivered absolutely diddly squat in terms of predicting what has actually happened.
I still trust in my knowledge and common sense, that everything is still going to plan, and nothing I’ve witnessed has changed my mind.
Before I invested here, I had never heard of the Lassonde curve, and when someone first mentioned it, the SP was already on the slide. But that’s life.
The only thing for those that did know about it, or felt trapped, it has given you all a fantastic opportunity to top up again at levels we all thought we’d never see again.
Just one more aquifer to get through now, and we’ll be on the home run to production. That can only mean one thing, a nice steady climb back to where we once was and beyond.
Hopefully we’ll have a great few weeks upto Xmas, starting tomorrow.
