RE: Gold Price at 6 Month High29 Nov 2023 18:04
Afternoon Bamps, sorry for the late response as I’ve been freezing my doodahs off after being persuaded to join in our usual Wednesday fourball.
Don’t mention UKOG, I remember that hitting 11p well. I was sat there for 10 minutes pondering whether or not to hit the sell button for a £500k profit.
As you can guess, I along with most others fell for the fat Aussie cowboy & Sanderson’s speech regarding touching & smelling the oil under the Weald.
Fortunately I got out just in time and piled in here, the rest is history.
Deanosbooty, the answer to your question is nope, I’ve only ever had the one account as never seen the point when you’re a genuine investor in having more. For me the only reason why someone would have multiple identities, is if they were being dishonest in what they post.
You also stated “Just sounds mental to me!” when comparing people who could of cashed out for big bucks didn’t.
That’s different for everybody, and it just depends on your appetite for risk, and of course, what your net worth is, before accounting what your portfolio in Stocks & shares are worth.
A thousand pounds to many is just as valuable as a million pounds to just a few.
And I know there are quite a few on this board who in hindsight had sold then bought back for much lower, but hey, that’s life.
All those investors who didn’t cash in their chips at 38p, believed at the time they were worth far more, and still do, that’s why they held and continue to do so.
Now I personally have had many friends call me mad for not selling, but they don’t see the bigger picture, and I’m sure 99% of them would love to swap places.
Like I’ve said many a time, it’s not about who comes out of this with the most profit, it’s about making a profit you are comfortable with, and since I first invested in GGP back in 2019, I’m up by more than 400%, and I’ll take that any day of the week.
We were at 5.9p a month ago, now look where we are, and similarities to 2020 are now starting to reappear, especially sentiment and FOMO.
2024 will imo, bring us continued growth in the SP that hopefully brings benefits to all holders.
It’s just a matter of patience !
