Recruitment sector. As of june were sitting with a neutrel balance sheet, assets less intangibles less liabilities equate too about nil. Profit to the end of Jun08 was £1.2million, however I can see the last half of the year being harsh on the recuitment sector, not too mention Q1 09 will have been tough, so I would imagine profits certainly wont have grown for the last 6months of 08, and may have slipped back into a loss. (Prior year period was a £1.2million loss). Currently trading around 4x last profit count, which is probably about a fair value as of now.Admin expenses still remain quite hefty at 11mill , which is where, with abit of carefull trimming, some value could be added back onto bottom line. Borrowings were around 3.5million , which initself isnt so scary, however they did have only 1.8million cash on hand at the end of june, cashflow looks ok running excluding the 6monthly profit of £600K inflow. Personally I think this is currently valued about right, I would be concerned however once full yearlys are released too see them slip into a loss, which would more than likely neuter cashinflow and would obviously add too borrowings. Recruitment sector will be a bit of a slog for the next year, so I think their are probably better companies currently in the market place, with less risk involved too peoples capital. But what do I know :)

with everything, prices dont keep on rising infinitly. Their has too be a retrace at some stage, it just depends on how big the retraces are before the next climb. If you keep your eyes on a price for long enough, you can see where it tops out and comes too then tries again, and comes back, if it breaks through it makes a run, if it doesnt, the drop backs get deeper.

too watch out for which Id be happy for someone too run through the numbers and see what they come up with. SLV. 10% gain today, big play comes end of june onwards which should see prodction double at one of the sites. As always, this is not a "tip", this is something for people too have a look at. As always Im delighted too go back and forth if someone doesnt agree, that way, I can cover all bases in my mind. Equally, someone may see it myway. your not sure, you can always sell out your original stake, and thus run your profit. Or you could sell out and look at it next week. Currently bids 26p Ask 27.5p , been fairly stable most of the afternoon. The fluidity of this share is a nightmare if you want too get back in, ie, their aint much around. I expect itll finish 45-50% up today, so glad too see youve done well out of it. Just remember, until its in the bag, a profit isnt a profit. That said, 40ps where Im aiming, didnt come into this for a day or two so thats my own personal motive and take

holding its ground nicely. I too am at home enjoying the last day of my weeks holiday. Just back from the park with the kids, certainly is chilly today ! Got the mail , and replied :) Next week should be fairly decent , some decent buys going through inchcape today, mabye not as spectacular as this week, but should be fairly decent on the whole. Just sitting sifting through a number of companies trying too find something of interest.

Just keep your wits about you, given the week the autos have had, I was expecting a drop today and it has dually delivered (thats what happens when an analyst upgrades pricing on stocks) lol. Next week should be favourable too the autos, although the coming budget speak has already been factored into the sp`s too a degree. Inch is a decent longer term stock, fell of a cliff on the announcement on a new placing, but that has been completed, 249million in the bank and onwards and upwards. I expect people too cash out in WTM and WHY today so itll probably fall back, depending on the term your looking too keep yoru money in it is somethingtoo think about when do you want out. WHY for me target over the next bit is 40-50p, but thats just my own personal target. WTM scarily is around £1 minimum too £1.30, baring no cataclysmic RNS`s. Back too my tea I go

I find right now is that in the luxury market which MWB operate, malmaison, whilist occupancy rates are decent 80%ish, their still taking a hefty loss in all areas of the business. Quite a substantial debt pile, although they have atleast written down the book value of properties in the last financials by 37million. NAV gives some comfort, but gearing doesnt. Id think this would be classed as a punt right now, a long punt , once the economy picks up which wont be for possibly a year to 18months, then this is where an getting in at this level would be ok. However, imho it would be a punt over a long right now

Think I got had a few too many celebratory Artois last night, so just trying too find where I left my head this morning. Gartspear, best peice of advice anyone can give is too get your head into companies your looking at. Everyones trying too second guess what sectors are starting too come back, minings bounced and has become difficult too pick the bargains we were getting at the start of the year so you move on and look at other sectors. Its anyones guess as too prices. I think now, it would take some really bad news for this too drop too 10p, their are so little of these shares available that low volumes can chase the SP up here very quickly. Several of us beleive the new management are more than capable of doing well here gartspear, they have stuck their hands up and said that the business needed too be streamlined , costs stripped out, and the business units need proper "amalgamation" if you will into the business, they are very concious of the financials as well which all just makes me quite happy with the intentions of the board. I need more tea...

on WTM yesterday or the day before Clarky on where I see WTM. IT actually is a better investment than WHY interms of risk. Interms of return, why potentially can see a better reward, but its a slightly higher risk. WTM has a nav of around 90p, will make a profit of around £5m 09, and 010 should see 7-10million potentially. (Very brief rundown) But have a look at the numbers, and Im always happy too go back and forth on any company/valuation/worth :) Im out, night all !

Indeed they have brought "some of the value" of the companies they have brought onto the balance sheet, that which is capatilised under goodwill mostly. What is the value of the business they bring with it ? :)

timescales differ. MY short terms are a month to 6 months, mids 6- 18 ish and longs 18-36. IT all depends on where you want your capital tied and if you feel it will work effectivly in the time span you set and if you need the money out short term.

believe, that alot of the people in here today are missing the one big thing that a few of the posters have been trying too bring home. Going forward, the big differrence here is management. From everything Ive looked at, new management in place is the management that should have been in place 6months to a year ago. Balance sheet is static, theirs no safety net. This is a company thats acquired and acquired and now has too make the consolodation. I believe the new management will make that consolodation, and the value that brings too the business far outweighs 17.5p. You have too look at this is 3x its current 52week low, its also around 25 times less than 52week high, and the 52week high was with weak management. The goodwill write down is something too add into the equation, that is the only thing that will trigger a breach of the covenants, but that is not something so scary as a very material breach of covenants. I was chuckling at the "Ramp" posting earlier, I havent read any other boards so wouldnt know whats getting said their, this is a profitable business , has stopped the divi too shore the balance sheet up, has decent order bank, and still, at 17.50 represents a decent "investment" over all periods
