One very disingenuous thing from super Dan was the big "Debenhams is back" late last year. There was nothing remotely pointing to positive numbers group wide for that statement to be put to the market.

They already knew the company was heading for a record loss by that point in time.

What kind of a ceo puts on that big show only to delay results then report record losses for the year - they just don't give a true representation of the company. They are complete liars.

Ah sorry Hexam I misunderstood your post about the presentation - I thought Dan stated debenahams was currently seeing growth of 90 odd percent right now. I didn't realise he was referring to last year.

Maybe the debenahams growth has actually slowed - I did expect it to flat line for this current year tbh with regards to revenue.

They are lost ocean, they have just been hoping for a turn around and it hasn't happened.

They told us that putting the market place across all brands was the way forward - then within months they are so say selling plt? Obviously the plt rebrand and market place isn't working.

They also started the boohoo market place in July 2024 and it just hasn't worked.

I noticed Hexam said he heard Dan mention that debenahams was showing growth of 95 percent currently, which I'm assuming would be gmv. Bearing in mind that last year debenhams gmv grew at 30 odd percent but only added 10 percent in revenue (20 million quid) then I would assume that 95 percent gmv growth this year for Debenhams would equate to 30 percent revenue growth for Debenhams so about 65 million quid.

The problem is everything else was still dropping at near 20 percent so I'm still expecting a big revenue decline for this current year.

Thats if Dan even had his growth number correct - we know they like to say a lot of stuff with no evidence to back it up.

Not only are they NOT profitable aon a pbt basis

They are not even profitable on an editda basis

They are how ever profitable on an adjusted ebitda basis - That should tell you all you need to know.

Snake oil is also trying to say the company isn't strapped for cash because Dan says the new facility isn't "fully drawn".... So they could have drawn 174.5 million?

More to the point if they weren't strapped for cash why even take the facility??... Oh they need it alright!!

Wait until the h1 results come out to see what cash there is right now.... They had 44 million left in feb of this year and they have just taken an extra 50 million loan to bring the total borrowing to 175 million.

Id wager that that 44 million is long gone and we are already eating into the extra 50 million and revenue still declining in double figures. Top that with a h1 loss of 80 - 90 million

Imagine not being able to see that both plt and the group are distressed businesses.

Plt at the last available figures was dropping revenue at 24 percent for the year, then things got so bad they decided a rebrand was needed - now they are "selling" that brand....

The group also reported record losses of 349 million amd yet again falling revenue in double figures...

Every broker is downgrading but of course panmure are saying its a good buy.... Much like they did 3 years ago when they said the bad times were over....

Yes they refinanced with a new

3 year term but that does not mean they have enough money to last 3 years, that is 2 different things.

With revenue still declining the cash burn will just increase as they are too slow right sizing the business.

If you are planning on trying to buy sme assets (brands) out of a company it helps if you are not the registered director of the individual brand companies on companies house.... If you were planing to some how bid at a later date you would want to remove yourself as a director wouldn't you....

Because only weeks ago they were giving us the results stretching back 18 months with a whopping 349 million loss.

Time will tell - bear in mind she has taken 80 million out... A million quid back in is a small price to pay for a bit of insurance.

One thing her buy certainly signaled was that the below statement had to be true and nothing could be developing or developed further than people think or market rules would have been broken.
