CASP had planned to drill the 802 Deep Well down to their 4,300m initial TD with the original TD being 5,200m.

Why 4,300m?

Obviously seismic hadn’t picked up the 100m-200m oil bearing column just below the salt line between 3,900m-4,100m where oil is currently flowing at 700-900 bopd from the first 100m zone (how thick is this interval(s)) so did they have a zone of interest at 4,300m too or is that where they simply planned to drill to before cementing the well from 2,416m to 4,300m – before drilling ahead to see if the 4 intervals that exist deeper down in the 801 Deep Well also exist in this well? The first net-pay interval in the 801 Deep Well was at 4,535m (6m thick) so not far of from the 4,300m initial TD (same interval different depth??). I think there’s a good chance they will now cement the well to around 4,100m and have that depth as their new initial TD then carry on drilling to the original 5,300m TD.

If that’s the case and they have stopped drilling at approx. 4,100m and are currently doing the mother of all flow tests re not drilling to 4,300m then news is imminent.

Otherwise we will have to continue holding our breaths for a couple of more weeks if they do carry on drilling to 4,300m initial TD.

We know there was a none commercial interval (120 bopd) in the A8 Deep Well and 4 at the 801 Deep Well and now at least one interval at the 802 Deep Well so there's at least 6 deep interval that are oil bearing - how many were there at A5-6-7 Deep Wells?

So over 5 years on since the A5 Deep Well flowed and got blocked we’re here again in 2023 with 5 deep wells to go back on and re-drill this year.

Clive talks the talk but didn’t walk the walk – will he this year?

He talks of 3 deep wells and some shallow wells flowing 10K+ bopd and how a Major(s) could show interest in CASP once their flowing a deep(s) well and have a new CPR.

Well we have another deep well flowing (802) and in the coming year I’m pretty confident we will see the A5-6-7 and 801 Deep Wells flow knocking 10k bopd out of the park – just the deeps.

I’ve said for a while 2023 will be CASP’s year and we could see an offer for CASP next year 2024.

After 5 years of talking about producing 10K+ bopd it’s time to turn the taps on Clive and get the Majors knocking on ya door.

You can see in this interview Clive’s talking up billions of dollars for the CASP once the deeps/ CPR are done – get these two deep structures flowing this year and Hast La Vista baby!

How longs a piece of string?

Obviously it depends on how thick the net-pay interval(s) is and the pressure, how many intervals for combined flow rate, how much they open the choke? If they've perforated say a 20m thick net-pay interval of first 100m gross zone it could way into the 000's bopd especially if there's more than one producing interval.

For the wellhead to pop a large oil bearing fractured interval(s) and gush 900 bopd is great, but what will it flow at once it's been fracked is anyone's guess?

Let's hope the pressure remains high and no rocks block the perforated holes.

We don’t know yet how thick the interval(s) is between 3,900m-4,100m, there could be one or ten intervals Xm thick as with the 801 Deep Well (4 deeper zones between 5m-59m thick?

The fact is this initial 100m light oil bearing zone (200m+?) wasn’t detected at this shallower depth on the 3D seismic and if this zone has just one 5-10m+ net-pay interval across many kilometres it’s going to be a game changer – we know there is free flowing light oil there gushing 700-900 bopd from the wellbore - how thick is the net-pay interval(s) and how much oil will flow once it’s been fracked?

Like I’ve said WH Ireland’s Reserves estimate is looking increasingly conservative with multiple layers of light flowing oil still being discovered.

Let’s add another 300m barrels of OIP for this 100m-200m zone (a 10m net pay interval) just for fun with an RF of 30% (90m boo P1) - believe it or not that’s about 112p per share with no discount (30% RF @ $35 gross profit per domestic barrel), 30p per share to a Major?

I’ve been saying for a few weeks now re if they only drill and case and perforate the 801 Deep Well between 3,900m-4,100m then they could have done some initial flow testing this week and update us tomorrow, if they’re continuing to drill to the original initial 4,300m TD then a couple of more weeks.

If they continue drilling after the 4,300m initial TD to the original 5,300m TD then another month (4 more intervals deeper down as with the 801 Deep Well?), which will obviously delay the rig moving to the A5 Deep Well to start trying to mill down/ pull out/ sidetrack the stuck pipe, to April?

Hopefully a full-on Op’s Update next week that confirms the A7 Deep Well has started re-drilling with the new G70 rig and a ton of other stuff (CE/shallows) to boot.

Will it be our week next week for a descent rise into double digits?

They may include the next dividend payment news with an Op's Update as they've done before (if they've only drilled to approx. 4,100m TD and flow tested the 200m zone (how many intervals/ how thick?) at the 802 Deep Well then we might get an Op's Update on Monday). I think with them selling another 700-900 barrels of 802 Deep Well initial test oil will obviously help the bank account so not worried, especially as they can forward sell their oil to pay the dividend if need be. We should see a significant increase in cash flow with deep/shallow wells coming online this quarter so even if they skipped a payment or two the increase in cash flow could kick in the 35-40% split - that could pay a lot more than £1m and catch up on any lost dividend payments.

We're due an Op's Update on other stuff too like the G70 rig purchase finalized and it being mobilized to spud the A7 Deep Well for example.

They give a reason for not continuing the A5 Deep Well's 90 day flow test using a 4mm choke below re reserves and income concerns.

If they were to be paid a fee then I’d say yes.

It would be beneficial to CASP to let the market know (eg. Wake up other Majors) if a Major(s) is showing interest, but I don’t think they have to unless they were being paid a fee. For example BHP were paid $1 million by a Major for access to their data room.

Note the 90 meter stuck pipe in the 801 Deep Well to boot hence the sidetrack.

BNG Operational Update

Introduction

Caspian Sunrise the Central Asian oil and gas company, with a focus on Kazakhstan, is pleased to update the market with news at the BNG Contract Area of progress at its Deep Wells A5, 801, A6 & A8 and at the Shallow Well 146 on the MJF structure.

Deep Well 801

As previously announced Deep Well 801 has 90 meters of stuck pipe at a depth of some 4,752 - 4,842 meters.

Work to allow a 200 meter side-track to be drilled from a depth of approximately 4,700 meters is now almost complete and the side-track drilling is expected to commence in the next 10 days, with an expected drilling phase of 30 days.

This is the same operation that allowed Deep Well A5 to flow but at 801 the operation is expected to be easier and quicker as the distances to drill are shorter.''

Deep Well 801

Background

Deep Well 801 was originally drilled to a depth of 5,050 meters reaching Total Depth in July 2015. As with the other deep wells drilled at BNG the well was blocked by a combination of excess drilling fluids and ROCKS from the potential reservoir.

For an extended period, the Company sought to remove the blockage with the use of chemicals and by periodically opening and closing the well as pressures grew. During that time OIL FLOWED TO THE SURFACE under its own pressure.

In May 2018 the Company announced it successfully completed a 350 meter side-track from a depth of 4,501 meters by-passing the blocked pipe. A 5-inch liner was run to the new bottom of the borehole at a total depth of 4,852 meters.

During the drilling of the side-track we encountered four potentially oil-bearing intervals. The first of 6 meters between 4,535 and 4,541 meters; the second is of 20 meters between 4,554 and 4,574 meters; the third is of 59 meters between 4,635 and 4,694 and the fourth is of 36 meters between 4,812 and 4,848 meters. Subsequently we perforated 75 meters of the intervals identified.

Recently, the Company’s approach with this well has been to allow the build-up of pressure inside and outside the tubing to reach its natural maximum. Caspian Sunrise plans at the appropriate time to divert this natural pressure back into the well to stimulate oil flow.
The pressure outside the tube built to some 610 ATM in December 2018, with pressure in the well reaching 380 ATM (ATM is the standard unit of pressure where one ATM is equivalent to 1.01325 bar). The well was opened before Christmas for several days to relieve the pressure outside the tube, which fell to around 100 ATM.

Current position

The pressure outside the tube is currently 490 ATM with the pressure in the tubing 300 ATM. Caspian Sunrise is now waiting for the natural pressure in the well to build further before looking to use that pressure to further stimulate the well ahead of testing’’

Just one thing to add about the 801 Deep Well.

The first attempt to drill this well ended up in failure because the drill pipe got stuck, however the second attempt to drill this well to TD (a sidetrack) was a success and oil flowed to surface! only for the perforated holes to become blocked with small rocks.

Question: If the holes hadn't have become blocked would the the oil to surface of been commercial?

The oil is there at multiple depths (layers) and there hasn't been a CPR done in a decade showing the new oil depths/ flowing oil etc..

The data room will enlighten the Majors soon enough.................

No, the gross interval is between 100m-400m (3,900M-4,300m) remember they were drilling another 100m to 4,100m, but the original TD was 4,300m and they found oil at 3,900m, and they could still be drilling to the original 4,300m seismic target of interest - remember the original 3D seismic interest was at 4,300m and they found oil at 3,900m - how thick is the net-pay and how many intervals are there between 3,900m and 4,300m?

They could carry on drilling to the original 5,200m TD to check if the 4 net-pay intervals exist lower down as they do in the 801 Deep Well where the thickest net-pay interval was 59m, this interval and the other three intervals got blocked from rocks blocking the perforated holes - oh my what if?

Amended - If it's a massive 10m+ interval and there are NO rocks blocking the perforated holes........

How thick is the producing net-pay interval that's flowing 700-900 bopd from the well bore?

If it's a massive 10m+ and there are rocks blocking the perforated holes then we better start revaluating how much oil there is in the shallower deeps big time and write off WH Irelands guestimates - regardless if the 802 Deep Well continues to flow or not (because of a blockage) the oil is there and could be across many many kilometers - 13+?

The rig currently being used to drill the 802 Deep Well will move to the A5 Deep Well and the new G70 rig will be used to finish drilling the A7 Deep Well (which should be being mobilized to the a7 Deep Well site now).

Not sure if the 802 Deep Well will stop drilling at 4,100-200-300m as the original 'initial' well depth target was 4,300m and original TD was 5,200m - so the rig could still be being used at the 802 Deep Well for a couple of more months yet. If it was me I'd continue drilling to 5,200m TD to see if the 4 net-pay intervals found at the 801 Deep Well also exist deeper down the 802 Deep Well.

Once they have stopped drilling (around now if 4,100m) they will case the well from 2,416m to 4,100-200-300m and then case the well between 4,100-200-300m - after they have cased this section they will then perforate it and flow test it this week by my calc's. Exactly, like I’ve said it’s the rocks blocking the perforated holes that are the biggest threat to the 802 Deep Well not flowing oil.

The remaining 100m they were drilling to 4,100m should have been drilled by now unless they’re drilling down to the initial 4,300m target, which would complete next week by my calcs.

Once they have stopped drilling they will cement the well from approx.. 2,416m to 4,100-300m and then case the well between 3,900m and 4,100-300m, and then perforate and flow test the well – hopefully no rocks block the perforated holes, if there are they will have to re-pressurize the well and try flowing the oil again to clear the rocks - rinse and repeat, if they couldn't then they would have to sidetrack the well from around 3,700m?

So there’s a bit of work to do yet before news - all fingers crossed and ........

Good question.

My original thoughts were they'd had a problem around 2,416m with a stuck pipe etc.. They said they had done 'extensive' cementing so I think they had a problem hence having to do a sidetrack.

The never said what the reason was for the sidetrack perhaps a massive boulders they had to go around or bad casing job?
