BM,
CASP cannot resume production on the 2 existing Block 8 wells because the Block 8 area has to go through at least 3 conditions before drilling can restart/ testing, these are same conditions as to when the second structures conditions have been met, see latest RNS (the third structure has been lobbed). CC is 'expecting' production to resume YE from these 2 wells and testing at Well AKD-4 when they get the license for it, but that is only if the sale of Block 8 has fully been signed off by YE with the UAE Co/ KAZ oil ministry. These conditions probably won't be done and dusted until Q1. imo, happy to be wrong re CASP jumping the gun - back in April CC said Block 8 sale would be completed in a few weeks time, cough, so I wouldn't pay attention to any imminent comments he may have made.
The 815 Shallow Well has obviously blocked perf holes in the drill pipe hence the delay in reporting flow rates, which will be why it now needs acid treatment to flush the holes/ wellbore out - not that we're bothered as this well is just a bonus well for AR.
If the AR sale is concluded by YE then we should get the $54m in Q1, I reckon they have spent a fair chunk of the $14m already received on upfront oil payment debt as I've already detailed, must say I'm surprised they've not charges AR another $1m for extending the exclusivity agreement to YE that ended in early September. The good thing about being paid $54m in Tenge is the local mining equipment can be bought in Tenge at a lot less than earlier in the year due to a better exchange rate now and locally sourced WS/ B8/ BNG drilling equipment to boot.
The two BNG deep licenses won't be signed off this year imo, more like later in Q1 - the KAZ oil ministry move at a glacial pace at best.
I think the best we can expect for this year is receipt of the $6m-$7m CE dosh.
CASP are not a one trick pony like most AIM Co's, once dosh and licenses sorted this will become a new animal.........a Black Beauty ;- ) .
On another note, re share buyback - if CASP have received the CE dosh they could buy back shares now while the share price in the 3p range - they could buy around 150m shares today negating the first 100m AR shares, I would, and if they also spent some of the $14m AR advance payment 300m-500m shares bought back now would be a very nice Xmas present, how big is the free float?
Anyway soon be Christmas...........
