Difficult days for the BOD. Had to be done I’m afraid.
Capacity will be cut across Europe, resulting too many airlines, aircraft, pilots and crew. But BA has potentially excellent slots, lower fuel charges, higher seat prices(?) and, with redundancies to one side, a lower cost of operating. There will be money to make in this space, sometime, so its a wait and see.
Difficult to see what the s.p will do tomorrow?
I only own two shares, this and BARC, which are reporting tomorrow. Whats the chances eh???

Evening all.
The head of IATA was on Bloomberg earlier taking about the industry as a whole. Worth a listen.
IAG will be there in some form after the pandemic. Yes there will be few passengers, but there will be fewer airlines and fewer seats to fill. So some airlines will be profitable in the future. It will be us who will pay for all this by paying higher prices. If IAG is there, which they will be, they’ll be profitable.
How long? Well the boss said a few years. Not gonna argue with that.
As for tomorrow, it can go either way. So good luck whatever your game is.

Morning, just a thought. I agree there may well be a reaction post dividend. But results are due in early August, Mr Walsh has indicated a “flat” profit guidance. Compared to the losses at other European airlines, IAG will shine bright, IF , and thats a big IF, that is anywhere achieved... Potentially the best in sector, this is a LTH in my book. GL

Nice to see us above the 460 support level. Surely this will meander upwards from here. Buying now will give a near 9% return in the form of dividends, within a month, if the s.p stays where it is.... Agree with the rest if your comment compass, I have bought in for a LT capital gain....GL

Thankfully i got in just over 503. Tricky decision, i can see it over 530 before div. take the profit or div & dive? Got time to think about it. GL

Morning, IMO the dividend is creating a nice cushion around the 500 mark. It could even draw investors in on the run up? What I am trying to work out it what happens post-dividend? Decisions, Decisions....

The fine, if paid & not contested, equates to just 2p per share.......Hardly worth waking up for..... Now its time to go back to my bank holiday snooze zzzzzZZZ.

Yep its also based on, above average volume again today, There has been some steady 1m plus share trades for last 3 days. Some felt that the placing shares the BOD took was a poor sign, that it was because they couldn’t get the rest away. Could well be that they have “bought” in ahead of news??? Richteex - three little words - Fear of placing. It was genuinely good news yesterday, appetite for the shares is out there, but fear of placings, means IMO, FOR THE MOMENT, a share spike like yesterday is unsustainable. People topslice or sell out knowing, on the balance of probability, they can rebuy in a day or two. Its a dangerous game, because if these solid steps in production continues, it will go one day and NOT come down again. I have been in since November ‘16, the charts don’t lie, its been very difficult. But the company will eventually shake itself of the stigma and move on. Don’t know if you were here for pine mills, but until now, I don’t think the BOD managed to shake off the disappointment. But the signs are encouraging, even though the balance sheet still needs longterm stabilisation. Keep the faith. S

I think folk are taking the option to sell. 6 months since the last placing.... too twitchy for sustained buying imo, 30% profit from lows this morning is too tempting for some not to topslice. But it is better news... GLA
