With respect to everyone's opinion regarding what the EU will or will not come out.....anyone who thinks they know for sure are totally misled.

My own opinion (and that's all it is....everyone is welcome to their own) is that I totally disagree about EU not witholding funds....... I said more than 6 months ago that I believed they had no intention of paying....I have from time to time since then, I admit, said that the EU funding won't be long arriving, but in all honesty that is just the unquenchable optimist in me trying to lift the mood and I haven't really convinced myself of it........I have always really believed they are just holding out for brexit when they lump it on our government......happy to be proved wrong and will eat my words if I have to, but think I'm OK on that score.

As regards 31st October.........................I am totally convinced we're going! ..................bloody good job too!!

Our own laws.......our own fisheries........our own free trade deals........control of our own borders.....looking outwards to the whole world, not the insular little gravy-train members club of the EU.

Don't get me wrong...........I love Europe, but i love the individual and unique countries that it consists of and not the beaurocratic eurocrats that want to dominate and subjugate those wonderful countries and bring them to heel as semi-slaves, never to be free.

Origin of my user name if anyone vaguely interested (probably not very) is I spent 2 years on various indian reservations in Northern Canada when I was 19-21 and spent 6 months 500 miles inside arctic circle in Northern Norway in Arctic Commando's Royal Engineers (CONDOR).

Seems more than a lifetime ago............65 now!........still love cold weather and snow though!!

I think Jim Ratcliffe's aversion to publicity would disqualify him from this role....because you can bet your bottom dollar that this company is going to be headline news from time to time.

Tango...........it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they bring someone in that is either known to John or Arun.....in the circles they have moved in, where they are both very highly regarded, they have rubbed shoulders with many high powered people who would probably fit the slot admirably. People they know they can trust and who would be extremely keen to get back together on what is a superb adventure. All eyes within the industry are probably following this story now and many would give their right arm to be in on it!

It would be great if they had direct experience of resurrecting a shipyard as well as strategic infrastructure project experience,,,,,doesn't John's old company from Australia fit that bill nicely?.......wonder who the Chairman there is/was...........they usually hold more than one post don't they? If a person like that was available on this side of the globe, that would be more than handy!.........At that level, they seem to travel all over the globe......someone like that might just be available?

Only thinking out loud.......it's the direction I would probably go in..........couple of rounds of golf............sorted !

Mr T....I'd be inclined to think a bit later in the year, as they didn't actually stipulate October in the milestones. Although they may want to bring it forward a bit now after the H & W deal or John is going to be snowed under.....so, like you say, I also hope it is very quick now.

Will all really begin to slot into place soon..... like the jackpot wheels in Las Vegas !
