I imagine Greece has done better than us but agree Italy is probably in the same league as UK with it's corrupt government.
It was a long term guide and yes all countries have their up's and down's which Germany is now facing with car manufacturing but a trend over 20yrs shouldn't be ignored.

According to the majority on this bb it has been a complete failure but lets just look at the facts.
In 2000 the German gdp was $1955bn now $3998bn up 104%,Spain $597bn now $1425bn up 138%,Netherlands $417bn now $912bn up 118%,France $1365bn now $2582bn up 89% and UK $1661bn now $2822bn up 69%.
When all countries are subjected to the same rules the sore losers are leavers who cannot accept the UK economy lost out to better run economies with better products.

Tariff ManTrump says it's making America rich again but the trade deficit widened to $621bn in 2018 making it the worse since the recession of 2008.

If UK government go ahead with dropping import tariffs in the event of a "no deal" and the EU still protect it's markets with tariffs,then i think European governments are more likely to want a "no deal".
UK consumers have been happy to buy European goods at current prices an unlikely to change their buying habits.

It cost RR in total £627m for a DPA to clear their name even though SFO couldn't prove anything.PFC has proved it can continue to gain business,why pay anything.
Currently WG falling at same rate 2.00%,markets have ignored PFC's results.
