RE: The reality.....19 Nov 2024 14:47
GreenWolf as you are a long term holder and fully understand the coal asset and it pitfalls over the years. I invested because of the 1.5 million investment and potential new asset in zinc and other minerals. Only for the BOD to burn through it in 9 months. The coal asset is and has been burning cash still, which is blamed on the rainy season. I didn't know it rained in Africa for 12 months of the year, shocking. From the RNS below it seems to me from that paragraph below they have no intention of disposal. Only thing that i can think of, if it's disposed of SKA becomes a investment company and has x amount of months to close a asset. With the current Kabwe and its complexity and still not closed, SKA would of been put into supension.
Operational Performance
Rukwa Coal Mine
Operationally, the Rukwa coal mine has faced challenges, particularly due to the rainy season, which caused a temporary halt in production. Nonetheless, with the return of local staff and preparation for the new production cycle, we are optimistic that output will resume in the coming months. Demand for coal in regional markets remains strong, and we expect this trend to continue into the second half of the year.
