I remember approximately 18 months ago when JPMorgan valued rolls Royce at 75p, caused me to sell at 86p with a small profit then within 6 months it was 150p now approaching 300p, never trust the pro’s.

PFC has had the absolute sh-t kicked out of it since 2017 with the SFO saga although as that was concluded it shot up to 180p now with all the positive news this year with a growing backlog and workforce the market only seems capable of looking backwards. The business has weathered the storm and has a bright future as long as it can navigate the short term issues. Which I believe it can.

Helikon joined in early November in the mid 40’s and have been steadily increasing, Astaris have been here a while however decreased on the day of the RNS then began increasing again. 90million plus shares out on loan that have to be bought back.

I’d suggest the shorts are at the helm unless a buyer appears or a resolution to the cash flow issue.

If either option happens the shorts will loose control quickly.

I don’t know how much Pfc assets are worth but one would assume it’s more than the current Mcap.

Debt is the obvious issue and weakness that the shorts have identified.

Still find it hard to believe that a business with $6.5billion of work lined up and potentially $10’s of billions more within the next 2 years can be in such a vulnerable position.

What is comforting is that Asfari and the majority of major holders are still holding, if this was about to go pop they would have sold out.

Lots of chat about a takeover and the CEO coming from McDermott does raise an eyebrow or two.

Price is the big decider it’ll go to a vote and would think the major holders would have increased at the last RI @115p so any serious bid would be north of that.

My weekend thoughts

Be nice to see a cash injection or a takeover bid.

I’m wondering whether the shorts are so convinced with their trade that they’ll stick it out until the 20th, only time will tell.

Trading days are closing in and they’ve played a blinder. My guess is that if and when they start exiting pi’s will see the writing on the wall and pile in hard.

Interesting to see 1.5m sell after hrs today, we’ll find out tomorrow night if anyone reduced.

I’ve invested in PFC for many reasons and this year, although the SP hasn’t performed splendidly I do honestly think that the business has turned a corner.

Yes it has cash flow issues for reasons stated in the RNS recently but proclaiming doom and gloom in my opinion will only cause nervous investors to sell at a loss. Let’s face it, there aren’t many people in the blue here apart from shorts.

I could be wrong and they could become insolvent, I just don’t see it with $6.5B of work lined up 8500 employees etc,etc,etc.

I’m happy to hold although not enjoying the ride at the moment.

Us share holders have had the sh-t kicked out of us since October.

It’s undoubtedly a gamble right now however, I’ve stayed in because of the backlog and ADNOC.

Lots of scare mongering about the future of the company seems like payed dreamers and disgruntled former employees.

In my mind, the company is preparing for the future, employees up from 5500 to 8500 and still recruiting, doesn’t sound like a bluff.

They’ve admitted cash flow issues, not hidden it.

Shorts have made a fortune no doubt and had their opportunity and the time has come for them to exit.

Also, ADNOC could buy 5% for relative peanuts, it could result in the SPrising high enough for a conservative dilution to aid the cash flow near term?

Let’s face it

If we get an RNS stating TR1 ADNOC now own over 5% of PFC there would be a frenzy, it would be much stronger than director buys IMO.

ADNOC have a vested interest in PFC, not simply recent contract awards but also PFC investing in Sharjah university to develop local talent through graduate schemes.

This isn’t over by a long shot IMO

Sorry if that sounds like ramping and it’s pure speculation on my part but not beyond a possibility.

Someone is building after the shorts showed a gain and the SP went up 20%.

The higher it goes now the more of an impact we will see when they do start closing.

Looks like at least one of the shorts is reducing, over 1.5m sold at 22.27p 17:37.

I’m not proclaiming a short squeeze as they’re probably also now long on PFC. simply glad I held through the misery. Who knows what the future holds but 2 blue days in a row are most welcome !

Shorts increased yesterday and the price increased 20% that’s a change from recent events.

Are they loosing their vice like grip finally?

As a long term holder and someone who believed the CEO was turning the business around, I’m now suspicious that this is going to happen.i may be wrong?

I now suspect the business is for sale, they claim only non core assets and that may be true.

I have come to the conclusion that the current SP is severely undervaluing the business as if it were sold as a whole 8500 employees, global footprint $6.5B backlog and the rest of the Tennet deal for starters.

Short selling has done a tremendous job of putting the SP at joke levels, this does not show a fair value for the business IMO.

So the real question is what are the parts worth?

I have no idea but looking at wood groups asset sale to clear debt followed by a $1.5B bid from Apollo that was rejected, I’d say PFC have a way to go in value

I’m down so much I can’t sell. Chirpy CEO rambling on about backlogs kept me in this.

I’m furious with myself.

If you read the entire article it states that they will award 2 contracts in the first quarter of 2024. I’m assuming that will be no’s 3&4 of 6. Therefore by the power of deduction it’s fair to assume the 2nd is due any day?
