The Navion Oceania made two visits to the Glen Lion, anchoring at Lerwick in-between visits. On the first visit, she took on oil equivalent to approx 12m draught, anchored at Lerwick for a couple of days, then went back and topped up to 14.6m.
Without the sight of the bill of laden, or an RNS, the only evidence we have of the approx volume on board the A.M. is the draught of 11.4m, and that falls well short of the 400k barrels banded about.
I accept from a cost point of view it doesn't make any sense what so ever, to send a vessel the size of the N.O.down to Rotterdam with a part cargo, hence the 2 visits to the Glen Lion.
I'm hoping to be proved wrong but at the moment I remain sceptical.
