it's been a while since i've concentrated on this so might be mis remembering. but isn't the Polx offering completely unconcerned with a particular scanner. don't they provide a bag of gas and kit to polarise it. which is then ingested by a patient and a SCAN taken. i'm not sure the brand of scanner matters one bit.
i'm still hoping this is too big for bracco's pockets.
and to revert to the subject of the thread, i was disappointed to see the chairman go, it was his buy in that caught my attention in the first place i think. perhaps he's served his purpose already. and the new lot do look worthy of significant expectations.
threeskins, unlucky in the short term, but its the long term that counts. everyone was unlucky last week, it is pretty unsettling. but great news this morning i think and i've gone in for me on the back of it. hopefully i'll kick myself i didnt go bigger.
and thank goodness the directors know more than i do. if i thought they were sitting around eating rice pudding i would not have so much faith. last week was unfortunate but they're still a great board and if the fda was an easier approval it wouldnt be worth so much to us.
Yep, my guess is that giving a date of the 5th or whatever is actually giving a false expectation. Someone deep in the fda may know. Even polx may know but it just takes a lot longer to get ducks in a row to announce. It changes nothing other than what we are all talking and reading for a few more hours.
You might find it does if you watch a bit more closely. I know mine does. And will again shortly. It goes blue, which is perhaps a happy coincidence. But please Be Safe!! If you don't want to take my word for it DYOR.
to answer your question (with a guess) if it doesnt get approved tomorrow it could get pretty ugly. but as meastro suggests its difficult to see no future for the tech given how many influential places are already using it, its no worse and its safer etc than some of the comparators.
but if one of the comparisons is spirometry then this is a lot more expensive and less convenient to administer too.
that said, i reckon, given numbers that have been presented, testing 10% of those with pulmonary conditions once a year results in a valuable company,
the revenue is generally seen as a function of the xenon sales though, which is why the HW protection is so important. i havent seen it discussed what the risk is if hospitals source their xenon elsewhere. i guess its helpful that a supplier is also a polarean shareholder but its bound to put a dent in projections.
fortunately i've got the patience to sit on this for a good while. but i'll be pretty disappointed if this hasnt hurdled 1bn in the next few months. it sounds like the BOD have done, are doing all the rights things. it's quite compelling. will be a really interesting period now.
RE: Intuitive Investment Group (IIG)28 Sep 2021 08:54
I picked some up after the polx investment, and am down currently but difficult to see that will persist too long. Shame they've only got a relatively small holding here but some of their other stuff is very interesting too. My thinking was that if their other investments were as sound as this one, not only is it sound commercially in itself but maybe an introduction to other outfits to consider too.
thanks for posting this. really good to hear an up to date comment.
and while the confidence of being on track for a decision isnt quite the same as being on track for a positive decision, it still sounds good. as did everything else he said.
my subsequent buy listed as a sell, which i just dont understand.
i think the phase 3 demonstrated it was superior or at least not inferior to the existing tech. but if it cant be commercialised then its not easy to suggest its worth anything material.
I always imagined the future would be a bracco acquisition but given the potential here, Im not sure bracco have got the pockets for it. Blue earth went for 400m. If this is gets bought out at twice that I'd be very disappointed.
Hoping we can piggy back on their sales and mktg but stay independent long enough to realise real value. Fingers crossed for 5 October and the weeks following.
