The value of your next car might £1,000; 10,000; or 1,000,000.
Doesn't matter what type of car it is, its' condition, age, or mileage.
While they may all have a bearing on the value, the actual value is what you, or anyone else, is prepared to pay the seller to possess it.
If you're only prepared to pay the seller £1000 and he has no other offers, that's what it's worth.
He may not want to let it go for that little, in which case the value to him is something greater than £1000.
If he has to sell it though, it's value becomes £1000.
Once you've bought it, you could sell it on.
You might manage to sell it for £10,000, making that it's new value.
Speculating about somethings' value before realising it is only speculation.
