RE: unlike others18 Jun 2020 11:15
Brillo, I have and have posted about it before but attracted criticism for doing so.
I shall repeat anyway.
I (accidentally) ran two strategies.
When I first bought in (£1000.00 @ 3.2p) it was to hold for the long term.
But it was the start of the spike and when I next looked it was ove 10p.
I immediately sold because I don't like spikes, not for holds anyway.
Then i noticed the price swings were quite wide and frequent.
Sometimes up to 30 or 40%.
Reasoning that I could easily make 10% by buying on the way down and hoping it would come back up again, I did.
I aimed for 10%'s but sometimes made 20% (I used 'pending' instructions to trade if something happened too quickly for me to catch it myself, of at the market open (when there used to be quite dramatic swings).
Over 18 months I got my £1000.00 up to more than £100k.
But I'm not rich and that sum made me nervous.
So I "banked" half and let the rest ride, buying back in in £10k chunks at different prices, averaging around 1p.
Obviously that is now only worth 1/5 of what I paid, but still more than I started with.
I am very aware of my luck and that others were not so fortunate.
Even though I have profit from UKOG, I am bitter over aspects of its' management since.
I've almost written off what I have left here and am only hoping for a Walt Disney ending in a few years time.
I was aware of the risks at all times and knew that by re-investing half my pot, I might not get any of that half back.
It's been over a year since I have been able to trade like that (maybe a handful since October) and then only for 5% profits.
The money I have left in is long-term now (unless we get another spike and I have dealing instructions in place to sell at certain prices, in case of that).
Wish you luck with your investment and, regardless of my opinion of it right now, I hope everyone recovers their money and makes profit.
:)
